Guest Paix
All of you 501st veteran Scouts, I have a question for you: Have you ever heard of a Scout OR Storm Trooper suit that was made from pepakura (Card-stock, Bondo, Fiberglass, & Fiberglass Resin) that has gotten accepted? I ask because I ran across files for most of the armor, but didn't make it as I figured it wasn't practical, I was saving up to just buy some SC armor, but the money is long lost from financial issues at home and my parents deciding to buy me xbox 360 games for Christmas w/o checking to see why mine was collecting dust. (It Red Ringed so to keep them from feeling bad cause they were upset that my only presents aside from a HESS Truck were games.... Well, you see where this is leading, anyway, I was hoping to have at least the hard parts by my 18th birthday, instead I have come up empty handed and I don't plan to be completely empty handed on my birthday as far as Scout armor goes. With this said, I have started making a helmet, as even if it's not going to pass 501st inspection, It will at least be a nice gift to my father. The question is though, do you all think it would be worth it to spend probably around $50-$60 in the Card-stock, Bondo, Fiberglass, & Fiberglass Resin it would require to make the armor for pretty much the upper torso, the thighs and knees? Anyway, once I get the helmet put together from card-stock and start resining it, I will use this as a building thread too so you can weigh in on if you think I can pull it off or not based on what I do and not just you previous knowledge only. Thanks in advanced for the advice, sincerely -Logan
Chex
It's up to you really. Sounds like a fun project though. Did your parent keep the receipts for the games? As long as you don't open them, return them and get that money. Have you joined the Florida Garrison boards yet? See if your parents can lend you a hand with getting things, and pay them back. jabbasdead
I have seen an attempted and it looked too angular and the sizing was off-Lego Scout was his nickname. He ended up using it for paintball I think and bought a set from SC.

I just have what I found on the internet, and I don't think I have the best knowledge of the costume, but not the wort either. Heh, cute, I think the sizing is going to be off as I scaled it to my body, but the head looks alright right now. I'll post pictures once I finish the front of the mask. Edit: well I got most of the mask done and it reminds me of the rubies lid, the cheeks seem warped, but we'll see once I finish it.
Guest Paix
So here are some pictures of the front of the mask for you all to judge: I think it reminds me of a rubies lid. http://www.therpf.com/attachments/f13/pepi...2926d1295112043 http://www.therpf.com/attachments/f13/pepi...2927d1295112043 http://www.therpf.com/attachments/f13/pepi...2928d1295112043 http://www.therpf.com/attachments/f13/pepi...2929d1295112043 http://www.therpf.com/attachments/f13/pepi...2930d1295112043 http://www.therpf.com/attachments/f13/pepi...2935d1295112146 http://www.therpf.com/attachments/f13/pepi...2934d1295112043 http://www.therpf.com/attachments/f13/pepi...2933d1295112043 http://www.therpf.com/attachments/f13/pepi...2932d1295112043 http://www.therpf.com/attachments/f13/pepi...2931d1295112043
