Figured I would start a build thread. It will probably be pic intensive. Below is the list of what all is needed and where I am getting them. If you see anything I have missed, please let me know.

Armor - SC - done

Helmet - KS - done

Cummerbund - LSFU - done

Vest - LSFU - done

Flightsuit - LSFU - done

Balaclava - Under Armour - done

Gloves - SA - done

Boots - Modified Target - done

Blaster - done

TD greeblies - done

Snout - MC - done

Bolt covers - done

Webbing - done

Can anyone think of anything I have missed?

Will update as things progress.

If you haven't already, you'll want to get some small, black greeblies for your thermal detinator. I know there are a few folks on here who make them. I got mine from Cucblack.

Noted above, thanks. I guess these are the black details on the TD mentioned in the Lancer CRL?

Keep them coming folks. :)

Yes. Greeblies or black bits seems to be the common slang for these on the boards. I'm not sure if an actual name exists for them. The ones from Cucblack fit the SC armor perfectly. :)

If you are going for lancer, then there's a few mods to be done to the KS bucket which will require purchase of a new snout from MC and new bolt covers. Even if you are not going for lancer, the mods are recommended. Details here: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=5118

Thanks, noted above.

Thats the ones. I was mistaken about them fitting the SC perfectly though. I forgot I had to sand down the top and bottom edges a little bit to get them to lay flat. The detinator pictured in that auction has a wider space for them to fit into.

Great. I will go ahead and get them.

Here is one of the grooved boots. How are they looking? Hope I didn't screw them up.

Please tell me your opinions.

Wow! Looks like you spent a lot of time of them. The pic is a little dark, but they look good to me!

Appreciate it. The pic is from my cell phone, will try it with the flash next time. Hopefully they will turn out better.

Gloves came in today. Man that was quick. Seems like I just ordered them yesterday.

The SC armor should come with just about everything I need to complete the build, but what should be replaced/added other than the TD greeblies? Different webbing, etc?

Boot questions...

All the vinyl I have looked at Joann's and Hancock seems to be too soft. Seems that it would collapse under the weight of the holster and blaster. Should I be looking for maybe a pleather?

Should the vinyl be smooth or grooved to look like leather?

Can someone possibly post a link to the vinyl they used when creating their boots?

Maybe I can convince someone to send me a swatch?

I think the only mandatory extras are the 1/8" black pinstriping for the details on the tank, and paint or pinstripe the red stripe and paint for the white circle on the tank topper. Gray paint or sticker for the rectangle on the chest plate.

Here's some optional things: For lancer, you'll need to replace the strapping with a natural color if you go with natural pouches. Again for lancer, you'l need to figure out an alternate attachment method of the tank to the back plate that does not use a rivet at the top. Witness came up with a clever way to do it. Duck cloth wraps that cover the chest/back connections at your shoulders. Lengthen the pre-cut slots in the armor parts so the elastic doesn't bunch so much. And I personally used a different method of attaching my detonator using alice clips so I can completely remove it.

My boots have a layer of interfacing inside the vinyl which makes it stiffer and sturdier.

I realize it is usually not a good thing to buy our stuff off Ebay, but... Any chance this blaster is Lancer quality/size?

looking at the sight on that its a recast of a P.A. even down to the seam mark from the cast, not so sure on the rest of the blaster but deff a P.A. scout sight, dont buy this one mate,

You can check out Smitty here, who does a lot of the blasters. I myself ordered one from KS. A little heavier then Smitty's, and a tad bigger, but I like it. As for boot material, Witness made mine, and I know he used marine vinyl. I picked some up from Joannes for my black boots and it seems to be fine. Most will put a nice strip of velcro on the inside right boot, and then on the bottom leg of the suit to help support the weight of the blaster.

The SC armor comes with pinstriping and the red stripe for the tank topper. Steve's right about the strapping for your armor. You'll want to use cotton webbing. Like he said, if you go with off white pouches, make sure your webbing is also off white. If your pouches are white, then white cotton webbing. You can usually get it cheap online. I got mine here and they were pretty quick and cheap. Get about a yard of 2" and 3 yards of 1.5" regular weight of either white or natural/off white.

Your boots look fine. I also used Witness's method for attaching the tank topper. Cut out a flap in the back. Used a heat gun, bent it up, that way it was just a single rivet through the tank topper into the flap to attach. Not too hard.

Good luck, and with the people on here, trust me, you can't go wrong.

Flight suit, cummerbund and pouches, and vest all ordered. That completes the ordering of all the major parts. Now the hard part starts... the waiting. I will finish off the boots and order the smaller parts while waiting.
