darren1970
Hi guys. Christmas is nearly upon us ( and I finally get my hands on my lovely new Mr.Bungle armour ). I received the colour sample sheet with the armour and then read the suggested paints on the draft CRL. Now this is where I'm upto. In the following picture Tom's samples are in the centre, with the suggested Tamiya paints on the right. Don't know wether the codes differ here in the UK but the colours just didn't match at ( apart from the brown ). On the left are my suggested alternatives, which are Citadel acrylic paints. The base coat is similar and the brown almost identicle. I took the green and mixed it with 33% white to get a pretty darn close match to the olive colour too. I'd be interested to see what the experts think. Darren
Grumpy
(Now, remember, this is what I see on my computer screen.) The brown looks good. The olive green looks real close. Maybe lighten it a bit, also. The base color just doesn't look right. The "rotting flesh" color, seems to have a little bit of yellow to it. (Gotta love that name. "Rotting flesh" ) And....Merry Christmas, Darren! Hope you enjoy your armor!
mrbungle
the base coat is real tricky. in the shade it needs to look green and in the sun more kakhi. iwould take it the sample to a paint store. they can matcht the colors pretty close these days , they have a basicly a laser that reads the colors in the sample. get a pint of flat latex. darren1970
Cheers guys. Yeah I agree the base coat is too 'yellow'. I've since found another paint by Citadel, Kommado Khaki ( thanks Dan ), that's almost a perfect match for the base coat on the sample. And don't worry guys.....I will most definately enjoy the armour Darren

Heatshock
soz mate - been buys over the holidays just a quick one on the colours (1) the brown matches as its the colour that is stated in Tom's build thread (2) the yellow a isnt part of the base coat, but there was a discussion of the presence of the yellow as part of the camo pattern in the high res pics a year ago, and it no longer is. NO YELLOW NOW!!! (3) as for the citadel green - its a good match mate! been wondering how to get around this. there is a humbrol colour mix that the Fett boys use to replicate the Polly scale, Panzer Olive green that I was thinking of using (damn you Tom, it was Fett that made you choose this colour isnt it, near impossible to find in the UK!!!) (4) not use where the Tamiya khaki drab came from?
darren1970
Hi Nath. The base coat I've gone for is a new Rustoleum spray paint colour called 'Fossil' it's a tad darker than the colour on Tom's comparison swatch, but I figured that I'd not need to add as much of the black 'dusting' and I'd be almost spot-on. The brown I've used matches Tom's swatch perfectly. I've used both Tamiya flat earth and Citadel Khemri brown which, when dry and weathered, you can't tell apart. The green camo I managed to match exactly to Tom's swatch by using Citadel Catachan green mixed with 33% white. I've done a decent sized pot of this ( and a littl seems to ge a very long way ) , so I may have some left. If not, we can get together and mix some so that it matches. good to hear from you again mate. Darren

Fettski
I am looking at buying the paint is there a website where I can go to order paint from Citadel . What is the best wat to go about the process any help Thanks. I think Citadel is a UK based company. The MB kit comes with a card that has swatches of the 3 main colors. Im betting that I can take it to HD or lowes and have them color match to the same brand of paint. I will be posting results of my shopping trip after my bondo and chrome on all of my pieces.
