Jawafive Posted December 6, 2010 Share Posted December 6, 2010 I've done some searching and I have a few questions about this particular helmet. I know the perils of eBay prop buying. I seldom purchase anything unless I know exactly what I'm getting. I've looked on this website and found little information so first hand reviews would be nice. I'm assuming that the helmet listed on ebay currently is the v2? I have read the helmet is too big with off proportions, but I don't know how big it is and it looks proper-sized in photos. Does anyone have any solid advice/info about it for me? It's a great looking helmet to my relatively untrained eyes, but I know looks can be deceiving. TB-7076 Posted December 6, 2010 Share Posted December 6, 2010 It is proper sized compared to the original unlike most replicas based more or less on the Don Post/altman figures or actual buckets of that origin. Personally I think despite many improvements in V2 is a bit too boxy missing some of the more organic shapes and might need more refinement. It's coming down between this and the MLC right now. I know most, if not all, would say the MLC, but I really like the looks of this helmet. Chex Posted December 7, 2010 Share Posted December 7, 2010 It's actually not his V2. Last I asked him, he said it would be awhile before he finished it. That said, it'll get you approved, but not Lancer. I've seen ins and outs of it and overall it's not bad, if you want to go that route. I ordered his soft parts, and aside from the suit being a tad tight (my measurements were off), it still looks good and I love the job done on the cummerbund. I own a CB lid, it was a long time eventually coming, the guy said it was lost,I received a very damaged lid , it is so inaccurate and yes it was his Version one which he had been selling for a long time, but the build quality was bad, very little fiberglass, more resin and very weak .
