Hi. This is a pratical question for any one who has done this in the past.

How do you sew on the patches to the suit. I have a sewing machine, but the legs are a tube and using the machine would be very difficult. Do you unpick the leg seam, sew on the patch and then re sew the leg up, or is there another way. I am not that good at sewing but will have a go.

Any good tips appreciated.

I have heard of people umnpicking and machining it closed.

I am planning on hand sewing tbh

I did not unpick any seams: my machine has a front part that comes off so it has a thinner arm, so I take that part off. That allowed me to do the majority of the sewing by machine - and I ended up doing a little bit by hand, not much tho.

Same thing JediJennie said........

also.....use a lot of pins. When you bunch the leg up to get it over the machine table, the suede and fabric tends to shift.

i can sew, and dont' have any issue letting out the inseem to get the middle in their. i'm wondering about screen accurate lancer status appearance...do any lancers have a nice closeup of the stitching on the outside (visible) seem for the riding patches? is it topstitched with visible stitches (line a hemline, or is the undersuit cut, and a regular seem made?

all pics and input would be welcomed. thanks

This is probably one of the best photos of the patch sewing available. If anyone has something better, please post.

P.S. this comes from the BSN galleries, lots of nice pictures in the reference section.
