Think these will work with a small amount of modification?

They don't look too bad. There seems to be plenty of room on the back of the hand to put the knuckle pads on. Remove that black elastic strap around the wrist, but save the little buckle part. It could come in handy when you add the gray strap around the same wrist area. And take off the little pieces with the metal loops. Those don't need to be there. And then add the brown gauntlet part with the greeblie to the back of the glove. It looks clean. Nothing extra on it. Not bad. Just my two cents worth.

Thank you, I appreciate the suggestions. I was planning to mod it exactly as you said. Just didn't want to start cutting stuff off until someone said they look like a good base.

I think these are basically the same.

Mine are an older version of US Army issued black leather gloves. I think they have a liner built in them now. Like these, but mine don't have the liner. I bet you can pull the liner out though.
