So I figured it's about time I start my w.i.p. thread. Im sure I'll be posting here alot since this is my first costume EVER.

any help or comments as I start to post pics and ideas are appreciated.

here is what im currently working on. just the materials and how they look together. im thinking maybe a bit dark for the main cummerbund material.

yeah , it looks brown... it needs to be grey.

its grey, been doing some more looking around and im looking for a better material. i noticed that my straps may be too thin as well. they are 1 inch. looking for more of a 1.5 to 2 inch strap i think will be more accurate.

The vertical straps that I have on mine and my wife's cumberbund are 1 1/4" wide.

The garrison belt that goes horizontally is 2" wide.

about 65% done. the paint is grey primer. thought it was white but my paint caps were mismatched.

And I'm thinking these are done. Anyone agree or disagree? Before I take my pics for submission, I will probably weather them when I have the armor.

i have all pockets removed. i was planning to put new pockets on and dye without riding patch. can you explain why i should dye then put pockets on?

i'm going with 5x7x1 with a 3.5 inch flap and the corner cut off. basically 5 inch at top of flap and 4 inch at bottom.

I concur, that is what i saw in the ref pic.

im testing my method on old acu's the same material as the dpm's. What do you guys think? a better pic may be difficult. Let me know if this pic isnt enough detail. I know the flap is missing but thats the easy part.

Pocket and flap look good.

Just watch the positioning. It looks a little low.

The thigh pouch will end up between the drop pouches that hang from the belt and the knee armor.

Agreed, but it still looks a bit big to me. I would drop them down by 1x1"
