Hey guys!

I'm rather short and stout (like a little tea pot?) with a fairly well endowed chest. My issue is that I can't get the chest armour to meet properly. It runs into...a few obsticles and I either have to have it higher then it should be, or the pieces don't meet at the top. I thought of maybe making an extension piece to "bridge the gap", or take it to a heat gun and bend the pieces (which I don't think will really work because it then changes the shape of the armour!) I really can't be the only person to face the challenge and I look forward to hearing any and all suggestions!

cheers!

I think making an extension might be your best bet. Fire an email at the armor maker and explain yoru situations. See if they have any bad pulls or would be willing to sell/give/barter for just the strap section of the front chest armor and use those pieces to extend your armor out. You will need some plastic shims too, and ABS glue to help reinforce the underside to make it a little stronger.

How many inches/centimeters are you off by?

Are you considering Lancer status? If you are, you might need some TLC to make the extension invisible.

I hope this is a point in some direction. Holler if you need more help.

Believe it or not, us guys have to use joiners too. But they have to match the armor pretty good. It helps if you're going dirty. Different fabrics, duck cloth canvas, flannel, etc. Put some velcro on it and wrap it!

Ditto what MB said, and velcro solves a lot of costuming problems hehe.
