LadySewForUs Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I know that it is good to scale down the pouches for a shorter scout. I am trying to determine just how much to scale down. If I have a Scout that is about 5'2". Normal sized, not skinny, just a bit shorter than an average scout, How much should I scale down the pouches. I am going to put the pattern into my printer and scale it down. Would you say 90% or 95% of normal size? Thanks in advance for the help everyone! Cheers! Debbi
Witness Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 The consideration will be that the height of the pouch is to be from the bottom of the chest plate to the top of the belt. That will allow you to scale.
Acrylikhan Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 That is a very good question: I'm thinking may be smaller scaling - Maybe closer to 85% of the original sizes? By comparison... I am 6'4" and the size pouches I have look good - which I believe are regulation size. If our new scout is 5'2" - then by proportion - 62-inches / 76-inches = 0.861111111 fraction So by my math 86.1%

But, with your calculations, that confirms my guesstimate. I think I will try 85% and see how that goes. Thanks!
