My wife's KST

Hey all,

I've been working on this for a few months now. I've been taking some pics along the way. (When I remembered.) I had told a few people that I was going to do this for my wife. I had tried to keep it a secret from her, but I had to let her know, so I could make sure it all worked out. For the most part it was a rough sell, but she gave her approval. I am almost done. Just a few more pieces to obtain. (Like boots, a helmet lens, and the drop pouches.)

So here's some pics for now...

The helmet...cut out the slot openings under the nose area for more ventillation.

A few other pieces in their progression:

Back tank was already in place thanks to Tom.

Signed by the maker.

Sizing up the tank topper.

The pouches. Already had those for awhile. Just added the camo. (Hand painted all the camo. It takes a long time...)

The beginning of the dreaded cumberbund...

Adding the mesh screens to the helmet.

The helmet on the left will be for my daughter, the one in the center is my wife's, and the one on the right is mine.

Almost done with her gloves.

IMG_0699.jpg

And, almost done with the cumberbund.

IMG_0767.jpg

The back pouches and the tank.

IMG_0765.jpg

The finished elbows and knees.

IMG_0768.jpg

IMG_0769.jpg

The shirt. Dyed and removed any unnecessary pockets and straps.

IMG_0770.jpg

And the pants. Also dyed and removed any unnecessary pockets and straps. Added the thigh pouches. (Made from those unnecessary extra pockets.) and the riding patch.

IMG_0771.jpg

I did add some misting of tan and black for the weathered look. (Can't see it in the pics too well, but it's there.)

That's it so far. When I get the final pieces, I'll post pics. I even try to get my wife to pop in and say hello.

Matt

Well, we could, but your style has more room. Whichever one she likes, I guess. But I haven't found a green lens for the Fett helmet anyway. (Those green lenses are hard to come by in this area for some reason.)

Gloves are done.

On my hand. She wasn't around to model them. (Very tight fit for me.)

One more thing on the checklist completed.

Here's her helmet with the lens. I agree with you Tom. She will use the fett style helmet.

And a pic next to the MrB style helmet.

Alright then, more stuff done.

Decided to make my own drop pouches. Based them off of the design that DaVe came up with a long time ago. I used a plastic for sale sign, cut it up and folded it into shape. It looked o.k, but had trouble holding shape. So, I made them out of metal for sale signs, wrapped them in a tan canvas-like material, folded them up, painted them, and then painted the camo, gave them a little weathering, and added the d-rings. Tried to get some pics when I remembered. (Just wanted to get the things done.)

And since those were done, I finished the cumberbund.

That's my cumberbund in the background.

And then I added a little bit of weathering to the cumberbund.

Not much more to go.

looking good,

i have few suggestions.

i would pull the front plate down some and lift the back tank up. tighten up the front plate and the back plate, it looks to loose on her. the backplate over laps the front on the sides. also hit the pouches on the cumberbund with some white on some and some black on others. so they are different colors from the armor.

bring the sholder bells up more and get rid of the straps.

i sent out those decals the other day for you.
