TB-7076 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Her are few shoes I might consider to purchase and to modify. In some cases I might have to change the upper boot and just take the soles. Only a few of the soles really come close to the originals (kenneth cole jango boots). Which one would you go for? The boots on the right side have the advantage that they are current models still available so that I could do two pairs for BARC and GM.
TB6675 Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 just found the answer to our boot problems!! Looks like the Galactic marine's have been holding out on us Check out the boot tutorial http://clonetroopers.net/Forum/index.php?s...amp;#entry49708
Ghst915 Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 just found the answer to our boot problems!! Looks like the Galactic marine's have been holding out on us Check out the boot tutorial http://clonetroopers.net/Forum/index.php?s...amp;#entry49708 Those look ok but the armor is not tight enough around the calf area, and I dont wanna use rubber farm boots. Heres some good close ups of the boots, you can see the armor and how it is sort of not touching the boot in spots. I like one of the shoes Mad found, after they are covered with the vinyl and armor they would look good.
Ghst915 Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 OUTstanding Photo Ghst! Thanks Snub, I got from the new picture we bought on line size 8x10. Did little fixing on it and blew it up.
TI-1574 Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 WOW! Great close ups! Give these views - I have a new theory 0 if ya'll are interested. It looks as if the toe armour is indeed rigid, but given the height off the boot, appears to be attached to a fabric or vinyl "spring" which is in turn attached to the boot - giving the foot flexibility needed to move with looking like frankenstein. Whacha think? Plausible?
TB-7076 Posted September 29, 2006 Author Posted September 29, 2006 One thing is for sure the armor tip is raised so that you have enough room for movement. The CGI characters are not always built after real life mechanisms so we cannot know if the designer ever thought that far as he probably never made a costume himself. That we can see in various aspects of the CGI characters. I think some sort of felxible system as you propose which can be tied to the ring thing we see at the seides might work indeed. I think a major problem is the tip to ankle relation in the movement. As the shape itself stays rigid it might look a bit awkward in extreme positions.
TB6675 Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 This is a nightmare in progress!!! Almost looks like something Gene Simmons would wear
