Bucket retention straps

Okay, I'm not sure if this was ever covered before, but is there an "accepted" way to secure a TB bucket? Or do all just leave the security of headgear to gravity?

I have been thinking of fitting mine with a floorball goalie mask/helmet retention straps, but I wonder if that'd be a bit overboard?

Have others used or adapted other retention systems to their helmets?

Having an MLC helmet gave a head start since it comes with the cin cup. One problem away.

The straps I believe can be anything that belongs from any helmet.

Maybe a visit to any helmet shop will get you that particular strap.

Thanks.

I have an Altmann bucket that has foam pads, but it's a bit loose to my liking and some of the pads are coming off with the glue having became gummy.

So if I was to fit it with a chin strap, if it had a chin cup similar to the one pictured, it'd be okay?

I'm not saying I'm going to performacrobatics in costume, but I'm a bit of leery t dashing around with as expensive a bucket as Altmann's on my nogging with onlöy friction-fit to keep it from either moving or separating from my head. Guess I've seen too much of event chaos in various conventions...

I put a hard hat suspension ring (aka "liner") in my KS. I secured it with industrial velcro. Due to the nature of the adjustable suspension ring, the helmet is not loose at all.

The MLC I'm working on I plan on getting something like this SkyDex pad set, though this site has something similar for about 1/3 the price.

I also planned on using the chin cup with the MLC, securing it with elastic.

I have a MLC that came with a chin cup. When I put my army helmet pads inside, they were tight enough that I did not need the chin cup.

I would recommend trying the hard hat liner first......the chin cup might be less comfortable for longer troops....

Just my opinion.

I agree, my fat head keeps it on very well! Ill keep the piece just incase it comes up and I need to look super cool or something  other than that... Im going strapless! ;)

I removed my chin cup, basically it seemed to catch the inner cheek sides when I talk which was annoying. They do look better though with cup on. But then again i do have 40mm fans in each cheek so that may have been whats catching <_>
