mrbungle
i have had and i am sure you guys have had trouble with the toe armor staying in place when trooping. so i glued a strap of stretchy belt material that they sew into waist lines on pants. i glued the strap on the back at the top of the toe armor and glued the other end to up inside the shin armor. seems to work good, i can't kick off the toe armor now.. LOL here is the strap. alittle velcro on the top of the boot and the sides will help hold the toe armor in place. and the straps will make sure the shin armor stays under the toe armor. Admiral Targeta
Thanks, I have had an issue with this. I will do that.
bselphfsu282
I did something similar but attached the other end to the laces and not the pants or shin. Works pretty well
Death Recon
hmm, I'll have to add this as well... I only use a large strip of velcro to hold the toe cap on the boot (Ive trooped for 6 hours+ and walked around the whole time with no issues)
bselphfsu282
I tried just the Velcro but every time my foot flexed, it kept pulling until it pops off. I added snaps to the insides of the armor and to the shoe itself, much like the boots in the Jango armor I had, but I kept feeling like they were going to pop as well. The strap I added is more if just peace of mind
gerald
Ive made it that way: leather strap on front work as permanent hinge 2 velcros under toe armour on the sides keep back of the plate where it should be ,they are also glued on leather straps to make em stronger middle velcro works just as emergency if they would drop, not happened never yet anyway
Death Recon
you know what I jsut realzed? Im not hang the same issue you guys are because i lengthened the top of the toe cap since I bound BC's version to be too short in comparision with the ref pics... If you check out my WIP you will see what I mean.
gerald
i need raise back edge as You did to Yours Allan ,so back edge is scratching shin armour badly, and if imove toe armour forward it shows boot between toe and shins:/
Admiral Targeta
I have had the same issue with scratching the shin as well. I am now using strong velcro to hold it on. Working great so far. The real issue is the o-ring greeb that keeps poping off. I replace it often.
