KST Gloves going into production

Recommended Posts

We are about to get the green light for these bad boys to go into production and take the guess work out of it. I have been working for the last 3 months with a leather company based in Oregon to make these available to the masses.... they have been great to work with! There is just one minor tweak they are going to do to my gloves and we will be good to go.

This is how they will look, but will have a short black cuff added where the black meets the brown to make it look like the forearms are padded armor like on the screen. The pads on top of the hand are padded leather (about 1/2") and the rest is soft cowhide. We will be looking at $100-120 (still finalizing) + 6.50 for US, and $18.50 for international.

Final details and contact info to follow.

are they goimg to make the pads on top of the hand seamless??

Probably not standard... but I'm sure they would do it with an up-charge. Going seamless is time consuming.

These look good. I'd add that the cuff rings need to be a few more inches up from the top pad.

When you say top pad, do you mean the forearm greeb? If so, they are practically at my elbows already. I'm sure this will be something that you can have them add or shorten an inch here and there depending on arm length and girth. When they make the last mod to mine, they will be adding more room for forearm girth since mine are a bit tight.

Well you have the knuckle pad, the hand-top pad and the cuff ring. I was referring to the cuff ring. The ref I've seen has it higher up the glove. The distance is about the height of the hand pad.

Ahh yes.. that was a part that left me pretty baffled. The problem is that this glove has to be the most difficult part of the costume to nail. The upper cuff/forearm almost looks like a separate piece in some shots, and attached in others. The proportions are out of whack for regular human arms as well.

Here are the screen used ones

And here are mine all geared up... remember that I'm going to have them add a bit of black cuff behind the wrist strap though.

Also, these glove will be made to order so they will not have them ready to go. If you want a tweak here and there, then I'm sure they can accomodate. They the basics down so it can only improve. One thing to note though is that these are also made to still provide some dexterity so they aren't all padded up in the fingers like the TB gloves are. I personally couldn't stand the TB gloves unless it was cold out... it was like wearing ski gloves!

has anything come of this Mosi?

thanks

They are hard to get a hold of lately since they travel by truck and trailer to a lot of fairs and festivals. I will try them again.

Okay... send them an email at sales@leathermystics.com and reference "CG Gloves". You may want to have Frank send them a set of the forearm pads. I'm going to try to get the two of them together so he can supply them and make it easy.
