i have not weathered the green yet but i think it is dead on to the reference pics. the pic also makes the green look brighter than it is in real life.

the paint is apple barrel

leafgreen. number 20472

i am going to paint my helmet with this later and post tonight.

well i think it is too green. it needs more of an olive tone to it. be back later with more...... what is killing me is, in real life it does not look that green.

IGNORE THE GREEN IN THIS PIC!!!

For the life of me, I can't see where there should be yellow in the cammo. I have watched all of the close up scenes over and over again and I think it's different lighting that is causing the green to flatten out a bit. It also only looks like one color of brown that was laid on heavier in some spots, and lighter in other areas making it look like a different color.

I don't know.. my brain hurts from watching the whopping 60 seconds of KT footage over and over!

ROFL! I know what you mean, mosi! Would it kill ILM to just send us some hi-res still images of the trooper?

Posted

well i am going to post some pics soon......

once i have the correct colors i am going to send out the color samples to anybody who wants them. that way when we troop together we will atleast match.

Posted

what do you guys think of this...i took a blown up pic of the sholder bell and place the pic over my helmet. i think we have a winner.

That's pretty freaking close! What color is that? I achieved the same thing today by using olive green craft paint mixed with a couple of drops of yellow. It would be far easier to not have to mix it though. I haven't painted my armor yet, btw.

Posted

well if you want i can send you samples of the colors i used, that way you can get them made.

everyone who is not waiting on armor from me, please post and address so i can send color samples to the address you post.

this way i can keep track of who needs color samples.

MB are these all house hold paints? What is going to be the best method to seal the paint? As someone like me who troops alot in the Florida sun....I used Krylon utra-vilot clear coat on my costume.

Posted

Are you still mailing samples, or should we print this pic?

Posted

i am going to still mail samples. i posted those for folks who can't wait.

the paints are interior eggshell house paints. i think the krylon uv protection clear coat should pose no problem.

everybodies color samples will go out tuesday morning...(tommorow).

I recd MB's samples yesterday and got some small paint samples mixed up to match. This is the result so far... taken inside with the flash on.

not to shabby, i would make the camo more jagged and pointy , not so blob like. does that make sense??

I'm going to make it a mix. This cammo is all over the place going from blotchy, to jagged, to almost an airbrush look in some areas... I'm using the hi-res screen caps for reference.
