I started with the armor first. I got a pretty decent start this weekend. I cheated and used black primer.

Question: am I supposed to cut a rectangular hole in the top of the visor?

hey chad, looking good!!

do not cut out the rectangles on the helmet. just paint right over them.

Thanks boss! I was wondering about those rectangles too.

I was referring to the very top of the visor where it looks like one rectangular hole on the top of the visor. I can't tell if it's an indent or if it goes all the way through.

the viser hole goes all the way through. i think it is a half inch by 3 inches. I THINK! my helmet is at work , so tommorow i will post the measurement.

I didn't get a chance to cut the hole today. Was thinking about using an Exacto knife saw blade. It's like a mini hand saw.

the hole in the viser on my helmet measures 3 inches long by 3/4 of an inch wide. hope that helps. i would buy a dremal tool to cut it out.

And we now have a Sun Roof!

I used a drill, exacto saw, dremel, and a flat file. Thanks for the measurement, Mrbungle.

Painting is the fun part! I've been working on this for about six hours now. Time for a break.

I got a little excited and forgot to cut the slots for the shin straps before I painted. I'll have to do that before I camo those up.

Thanks guys.

The base color is Spectramaster Code YS317 (an automotive paint that I sprayed on). It's pretty close to what MB uses.

I have everything painted except the shins now. I should have bought my soft parts while I was waiting for the armor so I can be closer to finished by now!
