mrbungle Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 getting better. now on SOME edges kinda of feather it out or fade it out with the sponge brush. overlap SOME of the colors. i paint a bit then stand back and see if it looks good or not.
Falcon-One Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 It looks too sparce to me, needs a little more coverage. Denny
Guest Vodika Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 I don't know how you guys did it but i mess it up everytime. I really don't understand how to use the sponge brush. This is killing me. Anyone has somewhere a good videotutorial?
Falcon-One Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Don't use a sponge brush, use a sponge. You can get one at any art supply store. Dab the sponge in the paint just a little, then dab on the armor. When I start to paint mine I'll do a video on youtube. Denny
Heatshock Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Chad - check out Mr Bungles stickied build of his armour ont he top of the page - - the base colour is a special mix of household latex paint. he even gives the exact colour mix. I have also foudn the colour match in UK for European troopers out there! Vodika - its looking good man. stop giving yourself such a hard time mate - its looks like it coming along really nicely! great job so far. And nice pouch designs too!!! Its ncie to see more and more stuff being made available for KSTs! Would be interested in the pouches too. You do realise that Angelo and Toms are like the BEST 2 KSTs out there ;P Nate
Strofmos Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 I've got a picture of Chris (Vodika) in his costume, from an event last weekend About the ammo-boxes run for Kasshyyyk troopers: I'll try to post the topic this weekend. I'm currently having some issues regarding a personal costume that I want to solve before concentrating my efforts on this run.
Guest Vodika Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Hey everyone, It seems my friend was faster than me to post a pic. I didn't had time for it because today it was my granddad's funeral. He lived to become 89 years old. He died in his sleep. We saw it coming this last few weeks. He had a nice life but it's still a hard time when someone is taken from you. Anyway, i will post more pics soon and also more close-ups from the pouches. He is not ready yet for 501st status but untill my gloves arrives i will take a break from it, not long, just a few weeks i guess. My wife is going crazy with all the hours i spend in the garage For base i used a paint from tamiya, i will post tomorrow the colorcode.
