Guest Bubba Kenobi Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 HEy guys looking into boot run I do not like what I see out there. I think the only real accurate way to go is to cast the soles and build to spec for jango, kashyyyk, GM. I have people willing to cast the soles. I am looking for KC pit crew books to cast from I have some in small size but need to borrow others. Please let me know interest and if any one has boots to lend. THis will not happen right away but will happen. I want feed back on sizes and interest, I am thinking size 9 to 13 US in whole sizes or just going full custom but that is a lot of extra cost. Please let me know what you think guys.
TB-7076 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I'd need two pairs in size 9 (or close) and if possible one pair in size 7. Depending on privce though. There may be 1 or 2 boots more if they're reasonably priced as we're forming a small GM squad in our squad area.
Guest Skupilkinson Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 It would be nice if a replica boot could be made. It may cost more but it'd sure solve the problem of trying to find close match boots and the problem of modifying excisting boots.
mrbungle Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 this boot has been a problem. i wish someone would make a new jango/KT/gm boot.
postmortem01 Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 We might be willing to help with the masters of the soles if someone else will spearhead the actual molding and manufacturing of the boots.
Guest Skupilkinson Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I'd be prepared to look into it. Though I'm in the UK which I guess you guys over the pond wouldn't be too keen on?
postmortem01 Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Sounds like Bubba Kenobi has already found someone who would be willing to make these. The picture I posted earlier in the thread is what the boots look like in the CG file. I think that these need to be shortened a little and made of softer material higher up to allow the armor to set over top properly. Just my two cents worth...
Guest Skupilkinson Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Great news, be good to see it become a reality. Defenitely agree with you on the changes too.
TB-7076 Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 What happened to this initiative? I wonder if anyone ever thought of making masters via rapid protoyping with the help of digitally scanned masters? with enough interest we could stem the costs.
TB-7076 Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 You always seem to flush all my hopes down the toilet lately
mrbungle Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 sorry, but i do not like to fill people with false hope. so i tell them like it is.
TB-7076 Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 hmm, ok I found a boot today with similar soles and even though the boots are tad too big for me I had to buy them being the last pair in stock. I had o pull them. Once they arrive I'm looking into modifying and casting the sole and look what we can come up with. here are the boots - still a lot to modify though but a good base featuring the typical angled heel and general shape. Let's see what some mould makers and I can do. http://www.madphisto.net/lookalikeboots1.jpg http://www.madphisto.net/lookalikeboots2.jpg
