Guest Skupilkinson
Hey guys, I've been looking on the net for boots that are a close match for the KST/GM boot. Like most I'm having trouble in finding a suitable pair and can't afford a pair of the pit crew boots even if I found a pair. I've seen loads of boots that have the deeper groove cut from the mid-sole but the side detail on the rubber is always wrong. I started to wonder if this problem could be fixed by adding a detail piece or two to the existing sole to achieve a closer resemblance to what we see in our reference pics? How easy is it to glue rubber to rubber without it peeling off as soon as you put your boots on?? Has anyone even tried something similar?? I figured the deep groove can be improved on most boots by using either a hot wire cutter, knife or Dremmel. The same can be done to the tread but that arch that follows that mid-sole groove is the main problem. So I thought that a piece of rubber cut to shape can be glued/fastened there to try and complete the look. Any suggestions on glues?? Heatshock
i'd use E6000 skip http://www.palmermetals.co.uk/E6000-Clear-...-oz.-11272.aspx tbh - the boots are gonna be a constant problem for this costume, and the CRL will need to be pretty soft in terms of clearance I would say.
