if you are like me then you feel that nobody has really got the movie accurate camo armor paint down yet.

pghfett has come the closest i have seen so far.

i wanted to start a new thread to discuss and try to find the colors and technique to get a movie accurate paintjob on the armor.

the first thing i noticed is that all the KS' paintjobs are different. no two KS' have the same pattern, same colors but different patterns.

mike's (pghfett) use of the green ink wash technique does help the camo. but we have to figure out how to apply the paint so it looks movie accurate. the patterns are blurred and go from darker to lighter hughs. not single color and sharp patterns.

i am going to take a couple 8x10 pieces of art board do the same pattern on each but use different colors and fades in hopes of getting closer to the true camo pattern.

so far the things i feel we are doing correct is

1 the kakhi background

2 the green ink wash

your thoughts on this please.

I seen an CGI file of Commander Gree and the cgi techs cut copied and paste the camoe....when the pic was blown up you can see the edges off the patterns as they were not clean up fully....so as the copy and pasting took place this is how the camoe was created...I assume the KS would have been the same. I think Pghfett was dead on with the camoe flow. Who ever starts the painting must finish it so thier comeo job is all the same! My 2 cents!

your right, pghfett's paintjob is the best so far. i just want to take it to the next level.

i like that paint job on his gree. i think maybe a mixture of airbrush and dabbing the paint might be a trick to try.

Hey Mr Bungle, here is some incentive to get my armor to me quickly once it is paid for. I have an airbrush and was planning to airbrush it all. I am a modeller from way back and I am pretty sure I have matched the paints up. I was planning to do a complete build thread for everything. I was thinking about chipping the paint and the wash as well to give it the full weathered effect.

cool, i plan to ship anyones armor as soon as it is payed for. that is why i am not taking payments yet..............

i hope to have the prototype pulled in a coulpe of weeks and hope there are not a major changes that need to be made.
