Acrylikhan
I think this is going to be one of those personal preference parts of the suit. It would seem the promo pictures, stills from the movie, and pictures from Dressing a Galaxy and the Art of Revenge of the Sith all are completely different. Case in point, I have identified at least four different greeblies that goes on the glove/jumpsuit. (I should publish those here...) The whole mess that ILM's staff wasn't using the same versions of software while creating and animating makes it difficult to figure out. My guess... pic a picture, and work towards making that particular suit. I am curious about how those gloves are going to turn out Mr. Bungle! Is there any way to confirm the source of this picture? The source of the picture was from the image DVD from the special edition of "Dressing a Galaxy: The Costumes of Star Wars."
mrbungle
very good point this costume changes frome scene to scene just like the helmet. sheesh why did they not build a real costume?:????? cgi is cheaper i guess. on my gloves i hope to have a update soon, but i am not holding my breath. she has all the refernence and the greebs you made for the gauntlets. ohhh i might have someone doing cummerbunds. ladysewforus on the TDH has shown a little interest in making them. so i sent her some reference and she might even put the pouches on......... fingers crossed. I am thinking that the glove is done by using a short gauntlet style leather glove with an extra addition to the gauntlet, maybe 3 inches, using the same material as the undersuit, with the rubber greeblie added to that. Just my opinion.
Acrylikhan
If your going for the extended gauntlet, I would say the very end should be about two inches away from elbow. That, and your forearm length might change how much material you'll need for the extension.
Ghst915
UPDATE: The rubber greeblie is actually on the JUMPSUIT with padding underneath it, and is NOT part of the gloves. The gloves are pretty much a standard over the wrist tactical glove. The third part of the arm armor protects the elbow. Also note... the "elbow" armor has TWO individual straps, and not one. New wrinkle... let the discussion continue! To me it looks like the sleeve is diffrent from the padded area there. Look at the camo where it stops and changes in texture as well. It could be a padded sleeve all together and then the gloves.
mrbungle
remember to leave room for your forearm armor.
Lonescout
I am going to hang on a bar so I can stretch my arms!...Their not long enough for this...LOL!
Acrylikhan
I'm part orangutan... so mine are too long I'm going to try to call up a leather store here in Illinois and see what I can find, either a local glove maker, or a ready to go with some alterations glove. I'm also looking for the original sketches of the Kashyyyk trooper suit. I can't find it in my Dressing a Galaxy CD. I am contemplating writing to Lucas to see if I can get some answers. I wish the Art books they published had just that... ART FROM THE MOVIE... not just tiny freakin' renderings of the digital models. ...sigh... Lonescout
For us short scouts just add it the glove  ....It may not be accurate but I don't have all the forearm room! This is just my take. Working on my gloves...I plan on adding Gray Vynal and painting the white band and the top greeble with weathering... The band is just a wrist band Like the (Lance Armstrong cancer band). The gray vynal will cover the top of the hand. I purchased these gloves except the one I have does not have a zipper it is replaced by a very thin pad!? Lonescout
OK Frank! Have you worked on the forehand rubber pads? I used Krazy Glue (Advanced Formula) I did not try Goop. The Krazy glue worked well!
Acrylikhan
That turned out really nice! I hope the rubber wasn't to hard to cut! I haven't had a chance to work on the forearm rubber bands. I still have yet to get that on the drawing board. Still searching for a good rubber-bandy like urethane.
Lonescout
I trimmed a little bit of the sides and it cut like butter!

Acrylikhan
Here's a quick question... for everyone... regarding the glove greeblie. I made the greeblie with the notion that it could be mounted underneath the leather/fabric. Hence, I made it with a lip. If I made a greeblie without the lip, do you guys feel that would give you more options for mounting, or are you guys cool with trimming the lip down? After seeing your gloves Angelo, I started thinking about it. Let me know what you guys think.
