thansk for offer btw Billy, but gettin stuff from Mr Bungle over next few months, so hopefully Tom wont mind being my US contact?

In fact might be able to offer u a reverse favour, another pair of gloves probably wont affect the amount of stuff I have having sent over from Alabama - as long as Mr Bungle is ok with it

Billhaq, You got it!!

I'm working on the drawings, and I'm hoping to have them done by Sunday. I will be posting the pictures here, along with measurements for mrbungle's arm. My forearms are pretty long (approximately 10.5" from the edge of the back of the wrist to the crease in inside of the elbow), so I'm more mutant than human.

Patience.. we're getting there!

Frank

I'd love to be added to the list if possible, and I can provide a US address for both me and Nate

if that makes things any easier ;)

me and frank were talking about the gauntlet length. he said 5 1/2 inches from the wrist back. i measured my forearm and i thought that would be a good length.

UPDATE:

The rubber greeblie is actually on the JUMPSUIT with padding underneath it, and is NOT part of the gloves. The gloves are pretty much a standard over the wrist tactical glove.

The third part of the arm armor protects the elbow. Also note... the "elbow" armor has TWO individual straps, and not one.

New wrinkle... let the discussion continue!

sweet find, frank!!

i think you are right. the greeb is in the jumpsuit and not the glove. it does look like the glove stops and the jumpsuit begins.

i guess you put in foam to give the shape of the gauntlet in the sleeve of the jumpsuit.

Everyone involved with making there own set of Kashyyyk Scout Troopers time for a discussion!

I may have gotten a nibble from one of my leads searching for a glove maker. But there are some questions I want to have the masses answer before I arrange any meetings.

1. Do we need custom forearm lengths for the gloves? The gauntlet looks like it goes up about half way up the forearm. Is this something we should consider being variable, or should we have a standard length?

2. Materials - I don't think there is a need to make the gloves out of top shelf materials to keep the costs down. But I would like to keep it leather. What do you guys think?

3. What price range would you think is fair?

4. How many people are interested in a pair and what size do you take in a glove? (EDITED)

1. I would say variable to accommodate different sizes.

2. Leather for sure.

3. I would max of $150.00.

4. Interested in a Small or Medium size depending on the fit of glove.

i have a lady prototypeing the gloves. i have sent her pics and payment to get started. they should be very close to movie accurate. thats the good news.

the bad news is they will be expensive. like helmet expensive. :( she will make them custom fitted for each person.

i talked to her about just sending people her way that want a pair. if you do not want to pay alot then we will have to find an alternative like heatshock has done.

well ,like i said once i have the prototype , i will post it here for any changes we feel that need to be made. then i will post her website so everyone that wants a pair can deal directly with her.

i do not have the time to do a glove run with my armor build that i am doing for the KS.

If i buy the leather my self and sent it to her, will the price come down?

i don't think so.

i was talking to her today and she suggested deer skin because it has texture like the gloves in the pics.

she said that she would let me know what she finds to match the glove texture.

she is only making the glove and straps not the gauntlet. that is now deemed part of the sleeve of the jumpsuit.

i told her to go ahead and make the gauntlet with the rubber greeb. the reason for this, is i keep looking at the screen shots and the gauntlets look different from the sleeve. they have a sheen to them like leather or something.

Is there any way to confirm the source of this picture? I keep looking at the posters and the stills from the movie, and in all of those references the gauntlet most definitely *appears* part of the glove. You can even see the seam in some of the shots. I'm not saying you're wrong necessarily, but this picture above just doesn't jibe with all of the other sources that are available.

Although... There is one pose that I keep staring at, and I'm thinking I could be wrong.

Can we get a judgment on this?
