I have a great scan of the Original Pix poster I got of the Barc trooper, but I don't want to get anyone in trouble by posting it here (copyrights and all that good stuff). Is it ok since we're non-profit and just researching this to post different parts of the picture to this board? I'm err'ing on the side of not. :-)

I have to admit, it's a great picture of the Barc.

HOLY CRAP TBO438 !!!!!!

I see new deatils to the Helmet, looks like tiny lines under the eye goggle area and I also can see the base helmets ARE white and appeared to be camo'ed by the BARCs. You can see areas where the camo was scraped off the helmet. Great pic of the gloves too and the belt AWESOME !!!!!!!!

And the cumberbund OOOOOOOOOOHHHH!!!!!!!!

You - are the MAN !!!!!!!!

Added, there are TWO belts one to hold the thigh pouches that hang down and one running around the cumberbun area to hold the pouches in that area. This is great TY

I'm a kid in the candy store !!!!!

The vents on this cg pic are different and don't have the "boxey" look to them like the drawing in the insider, the vents look totally different on the pic I was ranting about that was emailed to me. :D

In case ILM has used a lowpoly version for this promoshot or if the CGI details weren't modelled at all in any of the CGI characters this might be a texture issue.

Vents to prevent foggy lenses as shown in the insider and in some way verified here in the scans is just logical!

Textures however tend to stretch on the polygons in certain areas.

As some details were probably left out in the modeling to not make it too complex and as clones were seldom shown in detail shots it's not a surprise and not a showstopper in the movies.

Of course this is speculative - but from a design point of view it makes sense.

Mad,

would you agree that the helmet has a white base with camo painted over it?

I'd really like your opinion on this.

Also, you can't see the vents above the goggle area like in the drawing from the inside on the close up cg image, but do think that "vent" is still there as well?

If you think so I'll have to incorporate the vents into my helmet.

Whats your take on this ?

Could it be that we both speak of different items regarding the vents? I mean those below the goggles - not those at the forehead shown in the Insider sketch. About the forehead vents - I am not sure but on the scan I see at least something that could be a shadow of the elevated center part.

About the base colour - I think it is different to tell. I think white is meant to be the base colour with a camo being applied on field lateron maybe. At least the camo on the armor parts looks very rough and improvised.

However even if white has been the base colour some kind of colour wash gives it a greenish feel. As if a low pigment quite liquid washing was applied first covering all armor parts and lateron the brushes of dark green and brown.

Yes, Mad

we are on the same page about the vents under the goggles, I just wanted your opinion on the forehead vents above the goggles wondering if it would be a stretch to assume they were there as well without any hard evidence in the pics.

I agree with you about the helmets base color, the more I look at it the more I agree it was white camo'ed by the troopers.

I'm ready to start painting my helmet and if

I need to make some more cuts

or changes,

Thanks in advance!
