bluecyclone
You quoted me above and put a few sentences in bold, but missed the point: The belt above is acceptable if put together correctly, rivets are fine. Just make sure that there is no webbing between the pieces giving the appearance of three seperate sections, which was the original issue with yours. If riveted correctly (with white rivets) it gives the appearance of one solid piece.
yodaawilson
You quoted me above and put a few sentences in bold, but missed the point: Ok i see what you mean. I will just have to order a new belt and fix it up. thanks for the clarification also would this blaster work for lancer status? Oh and BTW this is one of the professional pics done at my garrisons latest con. You can see the mudflap on the back and the snaps are attached to the vest made by ladyghost. she is so talented. bluecyclone
That blaster is acceptable. Better pics! What about those silver things under your arm, what are those for?
yodaawilson
That blaster is acceptable. Better pics! What about those silver things under your arm, what are those for? those are snap clips that lady ghost added to my vest to help keep my cumbund up. I just have to sew the other side to it. It was a very smart idea.
bluecyclone
Ok, as long as they are hidden and can't be seen. There should be no metal showing there.

yodaawilson
Hi all. I bought a new belt with boxes from studiocreations and I just finished putting it all together. Thanks for the pics and references. I really want to thank Ken Jordan for letting me use his belt as a reference. Seeing it up close helped me make mine look more screen accurate. Here are the pics: I believe this is the last on the list of things I was asked to correct. boots, check, helmet mod, check, mud flaps, check, and now the belt is finished YEAH!!! If you need further pics just ask :-) I hope you enjoyed the pro pics. That guy was great. Do I qualify for lancer status now? 8-)
BrotherHalo
Professional Photos He did a great job. Can you please provide some of these in a higher-res format?
yodaawilson
humm not sure. How do you do that? AH ok after reading what High -res means. I am pretty sure since this guy was a professional with a seriously nice and expensive digital camera and setup, lights and etc these are as high-res as he could make them. If you know how to increase the res I am open to advise as to how I do that.

We'd like to see something "bigger" in pixel dimension, bigger than the 200x300 photos you posted. Something in the range of 400 wide. That way, we can see the details better. As a side-note, it appears that the flight suit around your legs looks a bit loose - any way you can get those to fit better? http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-sn...83_165062_n.jpg Also, can you please provide a few up close shots of the same side of your bucket as in the above shot? It looks like there's some glue on that side of the bucket that could use some cleaning up, too.

I will try, but if you would please let me know which details you need to see I will take pics up close for you which might be easier. ok got it :-D However, please note that both the boots, knee armor, and the belt in these have been corrected. tks As a side-note, it appears that the flight suit around your legs looks a bit loose - any way you can get those to fit better? I think its the white background (hard to see knee armor from back), the theigh straps and the extra material of my mud flap on one side that gives this look. It is a tight flight suit since I have fair sized theighs from swimming a long time. I able to tuck in some at the boots, but that's mainly it. Also, can you please provide a few up close shots of the same side of your bucket as in the above shot? It looks like there's some glue on that side of the bucket that could use some cleaning up, too. sure. the other red strip is a rubber band that I have removed and I cleaned up the glue before the professional pics were taken. the helmet is as tight as i can make it to make it on the sides. I have to force it on my head now. Anymore questions or detail pics needed?
yodaawilson
Hello All. I just wanted to post one of my latest pics from an event I did. You can see some of the details I have updated even if it is a group shot Enjoy
BrotherHalo
Not to be a pain in the ass, but can you please post some close-up, more clear shots of all sides of your helmet, please? Belt looks good. I'd like another look at the holster and a separate shot of your blaster. Thanks, Alex!

yodaawilson
Oh I forgot to say that the caulking has been removed with my pocket knife and sandpaper. clean and all white now :-) new pics to follow
BrotherHalo
Caulking? Around the lens, you mean? Also, please clean up around the fishhook on the helmet. It looks awfully "goopy" around it. In fact, the entire left side of the helmet looks dirty, but not an intentional weathering scheme. Please provide a bit more details, Alex. Thanks! yodaawilson
no the lens is ok, but I cleaned up all the caulking all over anyway. It was the caluking around the fishhook and on the side. ;-) updated pics of it cleaned up :-D

BrotherHalo
thanks for posting those, Alex... we hate to make it seem like we're really nitpicking your costume, but we're just not 100% satisfied yet. The fishhook appears to be still rather gunky with caulking or whatever is around it. This area needs to be cleaned up. Please provide new shots of your boots with the new holster. Also, if you could provide larger shots of you in full costume from the front, side and back, just as if you were submitting for Legion approval, that would help. The bigger the picture, the better for us to look at details. thanks for all your work and patience with this process, Alex!

LOL. what is it that your not 100% sure about what so I can correct those things directly, because it seems at times that I am back tracking. Not to sound hot or upset because I am not I like getting things right, but I just like particulars so I can work on those. I am not too good at hitting a moving target. :-/ The fish hook has been cleaned up and redone. Here are the pics of my boots, but I have not added a nw holster since the one I have had was fine. I don't know where that thought that I had a new one came from. :-? this is a complete restich. one straight hand stiched line all around the top and 2 lines down the back since every machine I have tried has not worked. It took 2 days to get it right to me for each boot. (ie this was not a qucikie job) thanks for helping me make it more like the movie. I will post one big pic of me in it later. Any other corrections I need to make?

BrotherHalo
Hey Alex, Don't think we forgot about you... Since the Lancer costume is supposed to look like the cream of the crop, we want to make sure you fit right up there. My recommendations at this point: 1. Fishhook. Completely remove the old fishhook you have on your bucket right now. The lines are just not clean enough. There are a few members here who sell decals that would make this so easy for you. 2. Blaster. I'm not sure, but it appears to me that the hilt on your blaster is too long. It looks like you can fit all 4 fingers through the guard. At best, you should only be able to fit 3 fingers in. 3. Pouches. Can I see a full-on front shot of you in costume? All other front shots seem to be either sideways or 3/4 turn so I can't see proper placement of your soft gear. Thanks!
