BARC Helmet kit Progress

Recommended Posts

I finally got some time to start working on my BARC helmet kit. I spent about 3 hours cutting sanding and bondin. Layed a few coats of paint and here is what she looks like now...

This kits has been a pleasure to work on. I am having a blast :) Forgot how much fun this is!

Now the paint scheme. I know Mike is doing the tan base coat, but I dont think its that dark. So am applying the standard gloss white. Once this is set, I will go over it with a tan wash, then camo it up then weather it. I need to hit the art supply store for some paints. So I thin I can have her ready in a week or so.

I'll keep everyone posted :)

Day 2 update....

Added a little brown tonight. Think I may have overdone it :(

May have to repaint the visor. The tan has to just cover the white, but not overcome the white.

Whatch think???

Excellent work, Sir! I can not wait to see more. You have a definite talent for paint. Ghst915 is not starting on his until after Dragoncon. We've got so many costume parts in the works right now. You should see the great job he is doing on Helmet Display diaramas. The stand tells a story without words.

Those are the only persons to ask. PGHFett is tthe maker and Skygunbro took over the moulds as the creator wanted to move on to other projects.

All the others are just customers who got them form one of the two.

I am sure they will get back to ya soon bro! :)

Jasons horribly busy right now and he is not the kind of person who holds peoples monies "hostage" i.e. taking your cash knowing he don't have time to work on your bucket, which seems to be the trend as of late.

DDArk, Jason will hook up with ya when he gets caught up with his other projects, and I'll hound his lazy kiester and crack the whip on his butt for you as well LOL :D

Hang in there Bro - he knows.

Feel free to email me as well -

Sorry Apharius, I got your pm but forgot to reply to ya,

Contact Jason at skygunbrojpw@yahoo.com

There are some serious recasting issues going on right now NOT related to the BARC project but making me and Jason possibly reconsidering making any more props available to folks.

A thread has been posted elsewhere where recasting actually appears to have been "accepted" and Jas was basically told - if you don't want recasted, don't sell - so as a result he might not. It appears the tide is changing where recasting and buying recasted items is acceptable, <_< I'm not speaking for Jason here so you can talk with him about his intentions but I personally know how he feels about his work being recasted

With that being said, I'm crawling back into my hole LOL <_<

I am continuing to build the BARC costume for those of you who pm'ed and emailed me as well, but don't look for a "run" on anything I make. If you like (or dislike) something I make pm or email me, but don't look for a run...

Just email Jason for details and a link, I've just been observing form a distance (not actively involved with posting) and have made my personal decision on how and what to do with the mentality behind it all...

Honestly, I'm truly disgusted and shocked with what the posting were there. Obviously the people posting are not builders....

Said enough, Sorry ArmyScout but I will post no more here on your thread with this, I meant no disrepect by doing so.

It saddens me to hear the news about recasters, it's like saying cheating on your Doctoral Thesis is ok. I've been following the various BARC threads for awhile now, and I commend you guys on a job well done. I hope to one day see some pics of the whole thing, helmet armour and all the soft parts.
