Have to say the scout clones in the Clone Wars movie look great. The helmet is frickin awesome with a mixture of Biker Scout with EP II and III. And they are referred to as scouts. Yeah

They looked cool and maybe we will see more in the cartoon!

Just FYI.... Lucasfilm calls them Kashyyk Troopers. BARC troopers are the white guys. Don't know if that has any bearing on the subject. I know because I asked and they definately call the cammo guys Kashyyk Troopers.

I still like Kashyyyk Trooper....As long as Kashyyyk is included the choice may have been a good one!

I prefer 'Trooper' , I think its more in keeping with the persona of the character and the costume

'Kashyyyk Trooper' also as a nice ring to it B)

I always tought the the barc scout was called barc scout because the helmet kind of looks like a dog's head (pitbull terrier's head), okay Barc , the letters forming barc are explained but the idea of a barking dog kind of sounds logical in a way.

But "Kashyyyk trooper" might be better I guess.

This may be a little late in the arguement, but I think I may have found new evidence to say...you're all right!

Take a look and see: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/41st_Elite_Legion

Now, dont throw stones at me yet. I know this isn't 100% sanctioned and up for interpretation, but you have to admit it's the best explanation out there.

Personally speaking, I pefer the designation between the two armours. Lets let the Clones have BARC as it seems more appropriate. My two imperial cents worth, I prefer "Clone Scout Trooper" over "Kashyyyk Trooper" simply because no other unit (as was pointed out earlier) has a location designation. the 41st Elite scouts were dispatched to multiple units, not just Kashyyyk. But hey, I'm not here to yank strings. I just want to have fun!

Thought you all might want to see that.

Oh, yeah... who am I?? hehe. Hi there. My name is Douglas. I'm new to the Alpine Garrison and was pointed this way for Scout/BARC outfits...er, excuse me... Scout/Kashyyyk clone scout trooper outfits. Has anyone successfully created one of the later? Does the 501st recognize them as approved yet? How do I get my hands dirty helping you guys create some authentive dirty swamp armour?

New data, from the "Ryloth Trilogy" of the Clone Wars series. The camo scouts who found the Huttling on Teth in the CW movie last summer reappeared in white and have been seen on foot and driving the AT-RTs. They are called... *musters self-control* ...ARF Troopers. I am not kidding. Advanced Recon Force. BARC to ARF. I love it. *sigh* Anyway. That's the Phase I armour. By the time of ROTS, it had evolved in two different directions for Phase II. One kept/refined the original look for the Phase II AT-RT drivers. The other lightened the armour for the Kashyyyk Troopers/Jungle Troopers/Swamp Troopers/whatever. I move that these are the Phase II ARF Troopers. Pending more data.

As for the whole BARC thing... Neyo and his riders of the 91st Recon Corps wear the same armour as Fordo in the second (orignal) Clone Wars cartoon. Fordo's an ARC Trooper. Makes sense to me that what Neyo is wearing is the Phase II ARC armour, as we have a lot of other examples of Episode III Clone Commanders modifying their kit with ARC trappings, as a nod to the Troopers to trained them. And since he's riding a speeder bike, what BARC stands for fits exactly: Biker Advanced Recon Commando. And further, it's called a BARC Speeder because it's the speeder for BARCs -- describing who the speeder is for, not what kind it is, if that makes sense.

I reject calling this the 41st Elite, as we saw the 41st Elite on Coruscant in regular Phase II armour (with grey markings) prior to leaving for Kashyyyk. I reject calling it the Kashyyyk Trooper (except in the broadest terms), as I refuse to believe that it was designed for and used on only one planet in the war*. I reject also Swamp Trooper, as there was no swamp -- jut a beach at the edge of a jungle-y forest, and jungle =/= swamp. With the Phase I ARF Trooper's appearances as an example, we don't even know if they're always in camouflage. Yes, that's what we saw in the movie, but we should be prepared for anything as Phase II armour starts appearing in The Clone Wars animated series.

*Anyone remember Leia referring to the Clone Wars, plural...? So how come what we're seeing called the Clone Wars seems more like one big war, singular?

good points , but a arf trooper is different from a barc or kashyyyk or clone scout , man you have already have me confused.

i like clone scout or kashyyyk scout. clone scout has a broader feel to it as in the scout is not just limited to kashyyyk.

it would be like calling sandtroopers ,tattoonie troopers.

but i was not here for the naming of this character.

my vote is clone scout.
