Its been a minute since ive been on here since i knew it would be for any major updates... i just caught up on the last 7 pages of posts too... those pictures are amazing. Id love to get a set myself but the only problem would be the painting portion. Id really hope their is a tutorial to go with that otherwise id get one of my friends to do it. No sense in buying a set only to screw up the paint job lol ;) Speakin of which, have you come up with a price range that the finished deal (armor only) might be? Im just tryin to figure out how much i would have to hide from the wife :D

This job is down right the best piece of individual dedication to craftsmanship ive seen... keep it up!

Well... to echo everyone else. Yes! Your work is amazing. Everything is

coming along very well.

( I was fortunate enough to get a helmet kit on it's way relatively soon.

From your friend, I might add and not some overseas company/person.

maybe that was the buyer off ebay ??? )

Yes! I can't wait to get the hard armor. I hope.

( Again, I would take much more pride in knowing I got a set up made

by you and not some company. It's like being able to say, " Yeah I got

a helmet made from the original ANH molds. not that I do, there I go

dreaming again ")

Of course I hope another friend of mine will eventually start doing some

of the soft parts.

I would really like to learn some costuming stuff ! wether it be sewing or

molding/latex,plastic and what not.

And I second the statement that you should show your work off at DragonCon.

anyways, everything is looking awesome. give us an update pic with the

camo'ed hard armor all on.

and is that strap thing actually strap?

Hey everyone, I want to take a moment to post why I've been "away" from the boards as of late.

I'm not big into spilling the beans about myself on a personal level at open forums but I've got a lot of pm's that went unanswered as of late and the progress on some of my projects had slowed for awhile and thought I should let everyone know whats up with Pghfett (some folks know already) ;)

In a nut shell - I'm progressing into developing rheumatoid arthritis it seems. I've spent most of the last few months getting it under control. I'm good to go now and basically pain free and back on my project list once again. This "arthritis" comes and goes from time to time. I'm young, so it kinda sucks having to deal with this, but alot of other folks are alot more worse off than me, some folks didn't get up this morning... :-/ - 'nuff said

At any rate, time to man up, deal with it and go on...

So.....

for the unanswered pm's - sorry :-/ it's been a busy last few months.

I'm back in action as of today, if you need to pm me again

- sorry for the rant above as I'm not into the habit of posting personal stuff like this :-X.

I just didn't want no misunderstandings about unanswered pm's and such. ;D

Thanks folks -

'Gotta get this BARC stuff done now........ :P - I do have some updates pending so hang in there....

Hey Mike, thanks for sharing! Sounds like you're doing a lot better after some hell that you went through. Health is always more important than a hobby, glad you're doing better now, and I hope you continue to do well :)

Why is it that the Artisans always get this terrible ailment? Man I feel your pain. Haven't had to have any joints replaced yet, but hate what it does and people don't realize how much pain it is until they see the gnarled hands. Unfortunately by then you've been dealing with it for years. Anyway, hope the project takes the mind off the pain. You truely do suffer for your art and what you do is definitely an art form in it's highest level. My hats off to you.

This some of the most incredible work I have ever seen. Kudos to you Pghfett on a fantastic project. Best wishes and I hope you can keep the rheumatoid arthritis at bay. I had a girfriend 20 years ago that started deveolping rheumatoid arthritis when we were both 17 years old (did I just give away my age?). Anyway, keep up the good work!

Now to explain to my wife where this years bonus is going.......

Good to see ya back on top of the project, that sucks about the arthritis, some of my family members have rheumatoid arthritis.

I have been thinking of dropping the BARC Project from my list because I'm too tall for the BARC, and the helmet makes my head look small...but I may keep going with it.

As it stands right now the only hard pieces I have left to finish sculpting is the shin armor and cod.

Once these pieces are done I will mold them up then finsh up a set to go along with the other parts I'm working on now.

Curently, I'm very close to finishing the back plate (I'm installing some lighting effects to the tank top plate) then I have to weather it to match the other armor pieces. Once this is done, I'm planning on taking some quality pics with the finished parts: Helmet, chest, back plate, shoulders, knees, elbows, and bicepts, all of which are DONE, painted/weathered and all.

The next step will be sculpting the gloves and molding the boots and modding them to a more accurate pair like in the pics. Both these pieces will be custom rubber cast pieces.

Next up some finished pics of the upper armor...

Man am I behind on this project LOL !

holy...

Mike that is the most beatifull paint job I've seen on an armor so far.

If they ever use barcs in the live series they should make sure to hire you

fo the prop department - that's absolutely fantastic.

I hope we have some majopr acheivements on the soft part front soon so

you can present your beauty as a whole.
