I think the major problem is the behaviour of the colour pigments, not the material itself so much.

Would be a bummer to change the chin guard and tip armor every 3 years (ok some might not own

the gear that long, but I'd plan to do so if I were in the place... ;) )

So the colour issue is really an issue and one we cannot really test due to being a matter of time.

Lining the shin guard is not only a good idea regarding stability etc. but it also might prevent or

contain the sweat effect a bit. So much more comfortable!!

The color pigments are usually stable. It's the medium you mix them into that is not. I'm looking at some urethane paints my company works with. I'll play with some of the samples and let you know what I find when I get down time at work. :)

Oh Yeah!

I think you might have to make the curve (the blue outline) maybe a little more exaggerated. Just to take into account the Digital-to-Reality Divide. Just want to make sure that there's enough room to walk comfortably and be able to do action poses without the armor popping off the boot!

You are dead on with this!

Well still drooling over your work and waiting for the time when its out there for us to injoy :D

Nothing to complain about - looks spot on!

I wonder if you already have a solution for the buttons that connect the armor wih the boot?

I think any movement will cause wrinkling of some sort (splitting at worst) due to the

deformation of a boot while walking and the three fixed points - toe, sides.

The designers probably forgot about those logical issues as they do most of the time - I should

know it ;).

In reality the hard parts would be even more problematic than your's as those are planned to

be made out of flexible PU.

Perhaps an original might have a compensation system -> rails, sliding systems of some sort

right under the armor serving as a flexible cradle for the button to move according movement.

Still that would limit the general agility of a soldier as movement is limited to the predefined

sphere of action by the suit.

oops ... do I overshoot? :D

Man these are looking great so far!

I can't wait to see the finished product.

I've been searching like hell to find a boot that resembles

the BARC with no luck :(

I'm waiting on a quote from a local boot maker down here in the swamp

where I live.

I bet I won't like the price either
