OMG! That looks fantastic! Did they have straps like that in the movie?

Yeah they do have those types of straps.

Not pictured with mine is the thin elastic strap that runs down the middle of the rubber pieces on both the knees and elbow armor.

Heres a link to some pics

BARC pics

Also, my shoulder straps appear a little thick in the pics for some reason ? I think it's due to the heavy weathering I did...

They are only 1/8" thick.

Did we get a finalization on the fabric for the soft armor parts? I know someone was working on a run of camo fabric, but haven't heard about that in a while. I am still up to my eyeballs in scouts so I haven't been able to get back to the BARC project yet. WE haven't done a lot of discussion on what we want in the soft parts and I would appreciate a little help there in exactly what we want to do. Camo shirt and pants or one piece flight suit? Corset-like midsection with strapping for gear/pouches? Or a vest-like midsection for gear and pouches? Also, I was looking at the CG artwork and the pants seem to be like camo chaps over an brownish to olive drab body glove. The saddle section gives that appearance to me. I will start working on patterns after we have a consensus of what is wanted.

It appears the brown/black/grey Camo material is dead in the water for the time being due to the silk screening costs involved at the moment (still under negotiations....

I have all the pouchs sized out already and will be mocking up the foam pieces in the next week or so.

I'm also waiting for things to "cool down" here to take some pics with all the upper armor / helmet worn over a black jump suit.

I can see the suit as a jumpsuit with a corset style cumberbund that wraps and secures in the back.

I'm also sculpting the gloves, shin guards and cod as we speak. Then onto the boots.

SO I think I will find some camo material readily available and go from there. With most of the BARC being CG it is going to find something on the market (that we can afford) that matches the CG version. With that being said, I will focus on the idea I have in my head and the suggestions Mike made.

Very swett indeed!

As for the camo material I can get it done but I need some commitments cause right now I cant afford to put up the 900.00 for 50 yards by myself.

I plan on doing some suits but right now I would rather just get the material.Ill ask the silk screener if I can get a sample so i can scan it so you guys/gals can see it.I know I wouldnt want to commit to buying anything without seeing it first.

But I had a source that sent me some never before seen upclose digital files of the BARC trooper including closeups of the camo pattern and color. This is being duplicated on material so it should be very accurate.

Anyway nice job Mike you know Im intrested.

I have almost completed the cod piece, pics will be posted soon. The shins are coming along as well. I'm trying to make sure they are as accurate as possible - nice tight seam and contoured as seen in the pics. Also, the proper staps that have the appropriate texture to them.

The BARC armor is looking awesome Mike! I too am suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis due to a broken bone in my right hand while I was in active duty. My manual dexterity isn't what it used to be and I am in my late 30's. I feel for you bro...I'm glad you are getting some relief for it. :)

These are 10" plus a little more where it "dips" below the not yet sculpted toe armor, they are actually slightly tall for me.

10" is standard, but with FG parts adding is not a problem, which is why I like modding FG parts over other types of materials.

I can very easily add inches without a problem -

why don't you guys post some sizes - in inches - I can make multiple molds for us 501st folks to cover the Tall, Med, and short sizes so everyone who wants them for barcs or GM's can maybe use them, just an idea....

What do you guys think ?

I started adding the center raised areas where the straps go thru today while waiting for resin to dry.
