pghfett Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 I have completed my BARC helmet and will be revealing pics tomorrow night or saturday. Here is a teaser pic I did with the visor on. THIS PIC IS A WEEK OLD !!!! The next set of pics will be complete with airators and decal details added. Hope you all like it Mike Links no longer available - sorry -
BrotherHalo Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Awsome! HOLY MOLY! Army Scout and I were just talking over the phone about this! Can't wait to see more pics!
TB-7076 Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Turned out well. Just a note if I am not mistaken there is a black stripe on the visor - actually that part was cut out. I guess this is meant to to enable viewing while running with the head towards the enemy and the visor blocking vision.
Ghst915 Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 HOLY MOLY that thing ROCKS! awsome job dude, great paint job too. So now the question is how fast can you make more and for how much? Becuase brother I am in for sure on your work.
TB-1019 Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Nice work! I'm not a particular fan of the BARC trooper helmet design, but what you did with it is very, very good. My biggest question regards the green visor tint. Do you all think the visor should be a green tint or a mirrored dark tint? I know the screenshots and promotional pictures show the BARC's with the green mirrored visor lenses but I personally think it's only green because the ambient light coming off of all the vegetation on Kashyyyk reflect off of the visor, making it look green. If those same BARC's were on Utapau, for example, I would think the visor would take on an orangish mirrored hue. The same effect happens with Commander Gree. His mirrored visor reflects the ambient green light also. Is the interest in modelling the exact look of BARC's on Kashyyyk, or in making a BARC that looks like it can go anywhere, at anytime? Also, if a person wanted to do a white (uncamouflaged) BARC, would that be out of bounds? The art for the GAR article in Insider #84 shows the various versions of clones and one of them is a pure-white BARC. My assumption is that the 41st Elite Corps (Gree's boys) put on woodland camo for Kashyyyk, but it would change depending on where they were deployed.

Guest dfett Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 i want one now lol by the way, you did an awsome job on it!
Guest optimus mime Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 GREAT SCOTT!!!!!!!!!!! That looks amazing, great work!
Guest optimus mime Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Also, if a person wanted to do a white (uncamouflaged) BARC, would that be out of bounds? My assumption is that the 41st Elite Corps (Gree's boys) put on woodland camo for Kashyyyk, but it would change depending on where they were deployed. TB-1019 brings up a good point. I was looking through Insider #84 and it sure does show a white BARC, and the visor in the mag seems to look more grey or black. Perhaps, then the vegetation of Kashyyyk IS what made the visor look green. TB, with this find do you think we will have to re-think the color of the boots? All of our reference shots had me convinced they were tan/sand color of some type, but now I'm not completely sure
TB-1019 Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 So many options so little time (and money). For the armor to be 501st-qualified, it'll have to be completed like they looked in ROTS, but there are a lot of customization possibilities.
Guest Goose Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 So many options so little time (and money). Ain't that the truth? After I complete my Biker Scout, and if I enjoy the process of working on, and wearing the armor, I would love to do a BARC since they were my favorites in Revenge of the Sith. I guess only time will tell. But to get back on topic, you did an outanding job on that bucket, pghfett. I wish I had that kind of talent to make parts like that. Keep up the good work, man!
Ghst915 Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 My God I said it before and I'll say it again you ROCK that thing is awsome looking, sign me up for helmet dude, sign me up. GREAT JOB
iTrooper Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Does anyone have a photo of this white barc trooper from this issue 84? I'm sure we'd all love to see that, cuz if it does exist, we'd have a legit reason to be white barcs.
TB-7076 Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 In the gallery there is the mugshot of that insider issue showing some details of the helmet that are hardly recognizable in the screenshots but hints are there (i.e. the lower google vents) White Barcs appear in one dark horse comic but with standard clone armor except for the helmet. Misconception I suppose.
Guest greeneyes Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Me want one.... Joy http://www.active.com/donate/tntcfl/tntcflJFlack1
BrotherHalo Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 So did you get that second mold poured yesterday? I'm eager to see your latest revision!
BrotherHalo Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 I'm looking forward to the final shots. It'll probably be the determining factor for me!
Guest skywalker_1982 Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Do you reckon its possible to get a full set of barc armor and signed up to the 501st by the time C4 swings around??
