Custom Barc Jumpsuit

Well,

after searching forever for something even close to the camo fabric for my BARC project, and after being dissapointed many times over, I've decided to custom make my the jumpsuit that will include the inner thigh "chap" area and a custom Camo paint job.

My research began quite some time ago with the advent of the silkscreened camo being placed on hold for the time being.

Now I'm ready to begin ordering the materials for the project tomorrow.

The base colors that match the pics I have consist of four main colors and the pleather "chap", which are an animal unto themselves... <_<

For starters, I can sew, but VERY slowly, and I'm rather dangerous with a sewing machine to say the least.

ok, the base colors;

(1) The base color of the jumpsuit IMO is Charcoal Grey

I will not be making the jumpsuit from scratch, but rather purchasing one from here, then taking it in to form fit, and custom camoing the areas on the suit as needed.

here is where I will be getting the Base Jumpsuit X2 for add-ons if needed.

(2) The fabric paint (which I've used before) is found here - with the appropriate color of brown - McCallisters for Simply Spray fabric paint

(3) Last but not least, the Faux leather fabric for the inner thigh "chaps" I call them. The correct color IMO is Charcoal Laredo which I'm purchasing from Distressed Bomber Fabric - Nice texture for weathering too :)

Colors I like for undersuit:

Jumpsuit - charcoal Grey

Camo - Brown, black, and a touch of olive/panzer green in certain areas.

Inner chaps - Faux leather Fabric, distressed bomber Charcoal Laredo

This will be a tutorial as I move along thru this process, Next update will be when the materials arrive :)

First of all - nice again seeing you documenting your design process.

I think the faux leather you want to use is a bit too dark. Contrary to the Scouts the Barc

uses chaps in light grey don't you think? Just look at your signature - it's a striking aspect

in their apearal.

You are correct, I plan on dry brushing and weathering them up to speed ;)

I was thinking along the lines of Clarino for the inner thigh pieces. Its the synthetic leather found on motorcycle glove palms and riding pant knee and butt patches. It comes in tons of colors but I have not been able to find a distributor.

Chris, that would be Ideal material. I've looked into it too but I couldn't find a distributor where you can get it in just a few yards for personal use, they wanted bulk buys only... <_< Also, I went back to look at the pics I have and the material is def a leather type material based on the texture that I can see on the chaps.
