jsilvius Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Okay looking for some assistance. It seems 3D printing is really the only way to go with the armor (I've talked to Walt a few times, but I'm still waiting on his R1TK, so I'm not paying him for anything else until that is done). Seem there is a solid source for the pants, boots and gloves, but the jacket still remains difficult if not impossible to find. I've heard good and bad about Sheev's Emporium, can I get a consensus on ordering from there? There was a recent post from there with what looks like an updated version. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BSwzUnLHd/ I've ordered the pants, waiting for a response about the boots and gloves, and I'm planning to buy @MrPoopie's files (I love the ROTJ scout files I got from him). 2 Quote

From what I've heard, Sheev's has really dropped off. So much so that we have dropped him from the approved Vendor list. More and more folks are making their own -- we reduced the L1 qualifications to make it even easier for folks making their own at home. If a new vendor comes along that makes approvable stuff, we will definitely add them to the list 2 Quote

I'll have to look around the forum and see if there is a how to, it is the last part I need to source. 1 Quote
Lyferikson Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Yeah, avoid Sheev’s LIKE THE PLAGUE. Your best option would be to reach out to a tailor to get a custom jacket made. It’s not super complicated, but it does have a lot of ribbing. 1 Quote
Major Space Cadet Posted Wednesday at 02:35 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:35 AM I strongly discourage you and everyone else from using Sheev's for anything! I waited 1 1/2 years for my PT jacket as I later found out from him that he never actually started it all this time!! just excuses and delays with his work and he is still taking new orders while failing to complete backed orders. Just spread the word to all fellow 501st members!! Quote
Rox Posted yesterday at 12:14 AM Posted yesterday at 12:14 AM I was at Kohls the other day and found an Adidas pullover on sale for $7. I’m going to use that for my pattern. It fits me like a glove. I’m just waiting for my fabric to come in. Then I guess it’s go time. Good luck, finding someone to make my jacket was too hard where I live. 1 Quote

I hear ya, I'm in Central Virginia, so we aren't "that" far apart. I did find someone online that said they could make it, they sent me some photos and video of a couple they had made. We'll see what it looks like when it arrived. Quote
