Nahlens Posted Friday at 08:14 PM Posted Friday at 08:14 PM Howdy Pathfinders, My name is Conor, over the past few months I've been slowly putting together an ROTJ Scout as my first costume, and the one that will finally get me into the 501st! I've done a decent amount of research (thanks to this forum) and I believe I've got nearly everything I need, or ordered. Since its a first costume, I went the easy way, getting a used set of armor, and a prebuilt helmet from RS Prop Masters. So far in total I have: Helmet: RS Prop Masters Pro Build Armor: Studio Creations Jumpsuit: Kriptontop Vest: Kriptontop Boots: Used, unsure of make, but they appear to be good enough for the CRL Gloves: Wampa Wear Cummerbund/Cod: Chrisx909x (on order) Pouches: Pilot Bay Balaclava: Under Armor Blaster: Blasterworks (On order) Tried everything on earlier, so here's me looking goofy with no cummerbund on (no balaclava too) I did also get a ukswrath audio system for the helmet since I like the idea of it (despite reading that the speaker is fairly quiet). It's not installed yet as I haven't yet worked out how I want to 3d print the backplate for the engine piece. Any tips would help! Additionally, CRL states that the gloves should not flare, but I couldn't see a decent way to have them not flare. Any tips on that? (I'm aware that's only for Lancer, but it bothers me) Looking forwards to getting this approved and getting out trooping! 1 Quote
Aradun Posted Friday at 09:27 PM Posted Friday at 09:27 PM Looking good Conor. It looks like all that Advanced Recon you put in has paid off. You’ll have no issue with glove flare for those Wampa gloves. No one has ever had to adjust them for basic or lancer. You good in that regard. As to the snout piece and Ukswrath. He should have provided you with the aerator piece. All you’ll need is a new backing plate as the RS one is all one piece construction. To make a new backing plate grab a sheet/piece of ABS and use the RS plate to trace out a new plate. Drill a hole for the mic wire, attach the aerator piece with the mic. Paint it gray and then remount it to the faceplate of the helmet with some outdoor double face 3M mounting tape. That’s it. Pretty easy. Let us know if you have any other questions. We’re here to help! Quote
Nahlens Posted Friday at 09:59 PM Author Posted Friday at 09:59 PM I don't exactly have any spare ABS around, but I did do a test print recently for a backing plate from MrPoopie's files, I think that it should work well enough for the backing plate to attach the engine and aerator 1 Quote

If you are wearing properly sized wampa wear gloves, then they will not need any modifications. 1 Quote
