MediumWillPower Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Hello there, fellow pathfinders. I'm Will from the Golden Gate Garrison, BH82886. I have a few approved costumes already but have always been tempted by the legendary shoretrooper. Honestly, I could do almost any costume from Rogue One and be excited about it. I've been lurking here for a while but have finally kicked off my Shoretrooper Squad Leader (R1), and have been having a blast on this build so far! Helmet - Mr Paul Soft goods - Darkside Closet Boots - Orca Bay Gloves - Endor Finders Armor - Imperial Surplus 3 Quote

MediumWillPower Posted Wednesday at 02:34 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 02:34 PM Still trying to figure out how to best upload pics on these forums as all mine are too high resolution. but I’ve done a test run of paint / weathering on the hand plates to get a feel for things. I think I went a bit too heavy on the latex weathering so I’ll probably paint over it a bit more. I’m still waiting for my aging spray to come in that’ll lessen the contrast between Sahara beige and the dark brown undercoat. overall I’m very happy with how the first paints have come out! I’m also waiting for the rain to stop so I can continue painting the shoulders https://imgur.com/a/HkJ098N Quote

I unfortunately don't see how my thread is different from a standard build thread. Maybe I'm just too dumb for it. Quote

MediumWillPower Posted Wednesday at 04:52 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 04:52 PM Gotcha! Okay moving along then. Sanded the shoulders and hand plates, then briefly debated making a chocolate trooper before moving on to Sahara Beige. I'm also using liquid latex for the weathering. I went a bit too heavy on the hand plate weathering so ill add some more Sahara beige to it. Quote
MediumWillPower Posted Thursday at 03:34 AM Author Posted Thursday at 03:34 AM Well, this turned out like bantha poodoo. Any tips on getting straight lines? Also noticed the bottom line is heckin crooked 🙃 Quote
MediumWillPower Posted Saturday at 12:15 AM Author Posted Saturday at 12:15 AM I had a total blast painting the other shoulder piece and I’m super happy with how it came out! I hit it with the gray aging spray, as well as a very light misting of black. 1 Quote
Rad Posted Saturday at 08:02 PM Posted Saturday at 08:02 PM Hello mate, yes I’m from the UK Good to see another ST on the go. FYI the dirty down grey aging spray is only used on the ford nordic blue parts after a light mist with Matt black over blue. None on Sahara except the skirt on grunt. There is no texture on armour except the helmet. It’s smooth with a lot of sanded edges .The dirt weathering is done with 70/30 mix raw umber and black acrylic artist paints built up with washes and ragged off. Build the layers up along the corners and gather points and soften edges with a rag. Screen used pics really help for reference when doing the weathering. Hope this helps. GL.
