Hello everyone i was wondering if I could get the group help? I am working on my gloves  on the top of the finger area and I ordered a black faux suede but I dont know if the color matches or will be dark enough. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

it might be the lighting, but it looks more gray than black.

You can blacken the suede using a leather dye, like this one:

I am more concerned about the extra ribbing on the fingers. That ribbing shouldn't be there and would be an issue for basic clearance.

Okay so the original Esprit gloves had tan suede patches; these were colored black for the movie.  Over time and use, the dye faded.  So when you see the gloves 20, 30 years later, the patches look gray.

But they weren't dyed gray for the film.  So I would just make them black.   I did that to my Esprits using Fiebings and it worked just great.

If you choose to purchase a pair of gloves, the gloves from wampawear are near exact replicas of the original esprit motorcycle gloves.

Those gloves look a lot like the gloves I bought off Amazon. They required a LOT of work to get them up to snuff. I basically had to completely deconstruct them, and then remake them with a lot of new leather, etc.

If you want to see my process, it's all documented here:
