Waterslide Decal Question

The trapezoid waterslide decals on my scout helmet are already taking a beating. Fixed the first scratches with paint pens but it’s happened again in short order. Lacquer protectant was advised in older posts. Anyone had success with that method and is a particular variety or brand recommended?

Very satisfied with the armor maker and they kindly provided replacement decals but I worry it won’t be sustainable to replace them so frequently.

Where'd you get the helmet from? As far as I know, RS is the only one who offers waterside decals with their helmets.

A clearcoat will protect the decals to a point, though I recommend you do some careful masking around the decal edges first. 

Rustoleum painters touch semi glass clear coat should work, but be careful when spraying. Too heavy of a coat at once can cause crackling or bubbling issues.

Armor and helmet are from RS and their team has been great on this. It’s just becoming clear I’m too clumsy to prevent bumps and scrapes.
