mjt82 Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Hey all - First time poster here. I'm not new to armor building, but I'm new to Scout Trooper building. My first approved costume was a Death Trooper - TX81813 from the Rancor Raiders Garrison in Mississippi! I'm a bigger human - About 6'3", 240 lbs. I printed @MrPoopie's chest piece, and it looks obviously too small. I'm currently printing a 110% scaled version to see how it fits. Has anyone up-sized these files? I'd love to see pics of up-sized armor, if anyone has any! I think I have a game plan - I assume that I'll want to make sure that all of the parts are up-sized to ensure that the armor is proportionate. I've been a Scout Trooper fan since I was a kid! I'm excited for the build! 1
BikerScout007 Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Normally I would say get Armorsmith and use that to size it to yourself, but I just checked their website and the link is currently dead. What I've also done is just concentrate on one piece, like a forearm or something, and then get that sized. Once you have the percentage to that, apply it to the rest of the gear.
mjt82 Posted December 2, 2024 Author Posted December 2, 2024 I tried Armor Smith when I was building my Death Trooper, and it was really difficult to get right. I think the creator has kind of ghosted - From what I understand it hasn't been supported in a couple years. For the scout, I went with 110% somewhat arbitrarily. I cut out slices vertically and horizontally to check the fit of the shoulders, biceps, and forearms, and I think that 110% seems to work. So far I have only printed one half of the chest armor, with the second half underway as I type! I'll keep y'all posted!
