Interchangeable chest\back armor straps

Recommended Posts

Anyone try to swap out their side straps? I'm currently running an off-white setup but I want to have an all white setup too, because....why not? I thought I could just add some buttons to the ends of the strapping but I then realized that there's a slit that the strap goes through. I thought I could cut the small piece of armor the strap covers but I really don't want to do that. I could also widen the slit too but I want to bounce ideas off you all first.

How is your strapping currently set up?

If you have velcro on both sides of your side straps, then you should just be able to pull the straps out. If yours isn't set up like that, then you can rig it that way and then you can remove your straps whenever you want.

I always have had just a single length of webbing for the chest/back strap. Makes it so much easier than trying to sew it onto the back plate and it's actually what they did on screen, too.

I'll also add, if you're going to be swapping between a clean/dirty look, make sure you also swap out the webbing on the belt and have white/natural pouches as well as joint covers on the tops of the shoulder straps.

Yup, that those covered as well. I just broke down and bought a second belt for this. I'll have another set of pouches too.
