Prime another piece. I hope that’s all the boxes I need. Gonna start priming the 2 TD

Yes it’s the IS helmet. It’s heavy and it was a chore to cut. I gave up on my mini hand saw, brought it to a friends workshop he got it done with dremel. But the dust was all over the place emoji1787.png

@locoOttomobile which type of ST are you? R1?

I'm a Squad Leader from R1. The Kama sold me. Just got mine approved last month.

Another heavy thunderstorm today. Only had 2-3 hours of sun. Manage to spray Matt coat.
Will prime the the thermal detonator set tomorrow

Nice weathering, how did you do it?, was it a combination of using the salt and also paint or perhaps sanding back to the base coat?

It’s ‘much basic. The “shadow” are airbrush work. Chipping is the “sponge” method.

How exactly does this work? Haven't heard of it tbh

It’s the most simplest of weathering technique for building scale models. Anyway, you create the chips using a sponge. Dip sponge in the base colour and slowly dap it on the edges or weathered areas. Randomly or with a wear pattern

The daily thunder storm not helping out with paint work. Too much moisture in the air. Gonna have to sand and respray

Are you using primer or any undercoat here? I’ve had similar reactions with different paint applications not “curing” long enough to let the acetone levels drop. And I saw this kind of raised/peeling. It was specially drastic when using Rustoleum primers.

The weather could definitely be a factor. I just wanted to throw the other possibilities out there too since I’ve had frustrating experiences like these even in the driest of conditions.

Hope this helps?

More painting.

Had issues with 3M
Tape. Now there’s adhesive residue as I remove masking. Back to yellow kabuki tape.

I think I bought the wrong glue. Cos this one dries lightning fast.

The gaps between the larger cast parts and ABS armor pieces are so tiny, i had to filled them up with glue, modeling putty and the thinnest styrene semi circle rods in my modeling stash. 56f234590b1eecb9d9f975602c387199.jpg

Will prime tomorrow. Hopefully the hot weather continues thru the weekend.
