Holster cracked off

Recommended Posts

Was just seeing it better way to get boots on for myself then not only has the pull tab come off the right boot but somehow the lower left corner of the holster has cracked off so now I need a new one of them

seems this life ain’t meant for me.

Everything just keeps getting worse.

Dont wanna quit but it seems every time I get ahead something breaks again

All I did was stand up and put the boot on

😭😭😭😭

Thqts said I have the small section that cracked off , I have superglue and activator , CA glue and the amber gorilla glue.

I have putty to fill a crack and white gloss paint and black to redo the base plus lacquer plus weathering

Is it possible?

Those areas are a known stress point, so it helps to have a large washer behind it to distribute the flex load. If you email Chef you can likely purchase a replacement holster.

It’s gone around the rivet so until I hear back from chef I’ve used t shirt to back it and provide a mesh then glued each piece one by one and used activator. Then a tiny dab of modelling putty to fill it then will sand to show rivet and then paint and lacquer.

Worth a try

I forgot to say

On the outside there was about the same 3mm Gap around the rivet so it seems not to have failed where you’d expect and more of a I might have compressed the holster when I was sat on the bed trying to pull the boot on.

There’s a 20mm section inside the boot of abs and a washer to hold the weight off and it’s not that that’s failed.

I’ve asked him for the cost of a new holster so will see what he comes back with but it seems secure and will check after the 25 cure

@Chopper is right on. I can't tell you how many stress cracks I've had in my holster as well as my chest armor attachment. It's the nature of the armor and you're not doing anything wrong nor are you alone. You got a whole det of folks that deal with dings and cracks every troop. It's the nature of the hobby😁

Yeah. That flippin rabbit hole lol

ive managed to fix it using a combination of superglue , activator, tiny scrap of abs and. Tshirt plus a large dollop of anxiety.

Luckily when it cracked it left a good radius around the rivet so that’s rock solid

Using the above I’ve fixed it all back together.  Then added a tiny bit of model putty to hide the line.  Thats been sanded down , painted gloss white and then a tiny spray of black weather to hide it and even shaking it around the the blaster it seems fine now

That said I’ve ordered a spare holster from chef anyway as well as some spare lenses.

So that was another drama mate lol

Well all have it mate! Last troop a kid dumped a grape snow cone on my bund and smoked it😂 Yeah no getting that out in the wash so I had to go for a new one! Thankfully my pouches were spared so I can keep those.
