Boot Weathering Techniques

Hey, any tips for weathering leather boots? I feel confident messing with ABS because I can reprint parts but I can't remake my shoes haha

I used a combination of sand paper, wire sponge, heat gun, black shoe polish, brown shoe polish, and pastels.

Heat gun? Can you explain how you used that to what effect?

I used black shoe polish, baby powder, sandpaper, and kicking dirt/rocks.

Similar to the above, I used black shoe polish and baby powder.

I used it to create texture and creases which gives it a more used and old look. Here is a before and after:
