It appears that the zippers on my helmet bag have rubbed off on the sides of my helmet and left these horrible ugly black scuffs. Is there any way to scrub these off or would I have to paint over them?

Looks like they scratched the paint, but maybe we can get an opinion from RS...

@CatfoodRob any suggestions for our friend?

I would dip a q-tip in some iso alcohol and see if that might remove the markings. Pick a very small, non obvious spot to try and test it and don't press hard with the q-tip.

If it turns out you need to retouch the helmet because the paint has been scratched down to the primer, here is the color match for what RS uses.

RAL 9010
They actually make a touch up pen so you might be able to use that instead of a rattle can.

I cannot remember if the helmet is finished in matt or satin. @Chopper ?

The armor is definitely gloss.

Remove the black with automotive cutting compound . A small bottle should be only a few dollars from the auto store . If there are actual scratches under the black marks , you have realistic weathering ! It’s such a small area no one would notice .

Update, I ordered and used the touch up pen that Aradun provided and i think it turned out nicely after a few light coats.
I highly recommend this to anyone else with the same issuefd9eca7b52e383dc15ffe8769261e3dc.jpg
