Hey all! My name is Jordan and I am with Star Garrison. I love that the shoretrooper is a growing common character within our amazing universe. This is my WIP and hope to find help, along with helping future builders. I am going for the Shoretrooper Squad Leader (Mandalorian) as of 7/17/2024 changed to Shoretrooper Squad Leader (Rogue One) and hoping I make this detachment proud.

Currently I am:

Printing Mr Pauls kit

Abs section will be 850 Armor Works new V2 kit.

Going to make my own shirt and pants thanks to some of the tutorials here on the forum: Pants obtained from a member (used IB: Keep Trooping)

Boots are legit Orca Bay

Helmet is from Thingiverse (one mentioned on the Shoretrooper page)

No gloves as of yet and no blaster just yet....but open to suggestions. : Gloves obtained from Endor Finders

I do have a question for those that have printed their Kit for Mr. Paul, as you can see in the pic below, there is a nipple or stud inside the left shoulder of the back plate, does anyone know what it is for? (Answered: Its a stud placeholder for a Snap)

Welcome! Looking forward to seeing your build.

I haven't done a Mr. Paul build but it might be an alignment pin.

But there is nothing for it to align to. I was hoping to get an answer here or on the FB page, but nothing. I might reach out to Paul directly. I just know hes on Vaca right now and dont want to bother him too much.

Yeah, I wondered the same when I printed my Mr Paul files. Still none the wiser now! As you say there’s nothing that goes there to align to. If you find out, please let us know and satisfy our curiosity!

Might just be a booger then. Does it show up on the stl file?

No its definitely not a booger. Its on the STL and has a very distinct shape. check it out

Ok so apparently its a place holder for a snap...but that doesnt make a lot of sense lol. Oh well. Ill probably just leave it as it doesnt seem to be much of a bother. Got my boots and ammo pack in.

  • Gree23 changed the title to Gree's Grind to the Shore! 3D Print (Mr. Paul) The Mandalorian Squad Leader

I have a question with Chest overlap of the Abs part. Is it ok if the middle upper detail is fully exposed on the ab part? so the section that has two bars that sits just about the center detail with the ridges. If that is fully exposed is that acceptable? Most Troopers I have seen have it half covered, but I have also seen a few that show all of it. Just wondering what the Detachment wants to see

The KitKat greeblie? It can be fully shown or hidden. Just depends on your body type and how you kit up that day.

I know there is one person (Imperial Issue) that does, and i need to track him down again, but does anyone have a lead on the metal belt part for the back. has the 2 slots in it? I am going to make my belt myself and just need that metal piece

If Paul hasn’t shipped your straps and greebles yet, he does the slider buckles for the belt, so you might be able to add it onto your order.

I asked him. He said he was gonna check but he thinks he is out of stock. I am waiting for his response then will look elsewhere if he doesnt have them

I got mine from imperial issue. Aside from him and Mr. Paul, I'm not sure of another source.

Yeah this is where I was planning on going depending on Mr. Pauls prices and availability. I am also wondering, since I am also planning a Tank Trooper, if i should get two, or just use the same one for both suits? Might get two just so i dont have to stress about making sure there is one with the kit I am gonna troop.

Also, my hope is that this weekend I will have my chest, back, and Abs ready for paint prep. I will be putting fiberglass on the inside seams, and fiberglass resin on the outside of the parts to sand smooth and paint.

Ok so, I got the back together but hadnt posted a full picture and wanted to do that for documentation purposes. The Helmet had a hiccup that I havent had in a while but have the rest of it on the printer now. Also got most of the belt parts done and hoping to get them in resin tomorrow. Ordered my belt closure from Imperial Issue and ordered just about everything I really needed from Mr. Paul. Got my back greebles, straps for chest and shins, and "Hose Fitting" Greebles.

Hoping to get the helmet prepped for paint tomorrow.
