Voriaxlarp
Hello everybody! I hope to join the detachment in a near future (gathering resources now), hopefully as a Shoretrooper Specialist (https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Shoretrooper_specialist). I have a doubt regarding one of the weapons that the CRL includes for this suit. I asked it on the Spanish garrison forum, but was told it was a too specific doubt and I should be asking here. I beg you pardon if it has been asked priorly, as well if I say anything wrong (I am a bit rusty using English). To the question then. I see the DLT-19x Targeting Rifle is an option for this shoretrooper variant. I have seen photos around of people carrying it with a rifle strap, mainly scout troopers. I haven’t seen straps mentioned on the CRL of the shoretrooper, but also haven’t seen them on the scout trooper CRL. I am only wondering if it would be something that could be negative for suit approval. I really like the look of the DLT-19x but have some concerns about comfort during missions. Many thanks in advance! Javier
Retrofire
Ola' Javier! There are quite a few troopers that use a strap for their DLT-19x typically made out of leather or canvas. You'll need to reach out to your GML to verify what your Garrison will allow. I'd also consider reaching out to a few troopers in the Spanish Garrison. That being said if you haven't had the opportunity yet then I would encourage you to reach out to your local garrison here: https://www.legion501.com/501web/ Looking forward to your build and please let us know if we can be of any further assistance! 1
Chopper
The strap is not listed in any of the CRLs that include the DLT-19 or 19X, so officially it's not allowed. There are times when, as Retrofire says, the local GML or Commander may authorize you using a strap. So if your GML and Commander are okay with using a strap on your DLT for trooping events, then you're okay to do so. 1
Aradun
To add to what Chopper said, if your unit commander and/GML allowed you to use it, it would most likely be limited to non LFL events. Any official event sponsored or approved by Lucas Film/Disney require strict adherence to the CRL.As someone who troops occasionally with a DLT-19X, I can tell you that a 3D printed version is very comfortable. You really won’t need the strap. However, if you find a rubber blaster or have one done in resin, it will have some heft to it and you might not enjoy holding it for prolonged troops. I personally prefer to keep my hands free so that I can interact with fans and photo ops more freely, and reserve the DLT19X for parades that typically have less interaction.
