TheMi Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 since its my first time cosplaying and was looking for some cheap options and found this two and was wondering if this would be 501st approved Ammo pouch https://www.etsy.com/listing/594048217/original-czech-yugoslavia-serbian-army Pants https://www.ebay.com/itm/403338021284?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28
KOtrooper Posted October 20, 2022 Posted October 20, 2022 The ammo pouch is perfect! The pants should work out just fine too but it depends on your GML.You'll need to add the lacing and the diamond detail in the knee for level 2 (which is totally optional). Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk 1
ST79211 Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 Iam not sure about the pants. They look green? 1
KOtrooper Posted October 21, 2022 Posted October 21, 2022 They're showing up as brown on my monitor. Even if they have a green tint, you could dye them. Might want to hit up the seller for clarification on the color.
Minimo Posted October 22, 2022 Posted October 22, 2022 Hey Matt! 501st approvals are handled by the local garrison GMLs, not the detachments. Your best bet is to reach out to them. That being said the pouch is the correct one you want. The pants may have issues passing as they are. You can always try modding items to make them look a bit closer…Here is a pic of the pants:hope that helps, good luckSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

KOtrooper Posted October 24, 2022 Posted October 24, 2022 7 minutes ago, TheMi said: thanks what method would you recommend to dye these I haven't done it myself but members of my garrison use Rit Dye and (ideally) a top loader washer. YouTube might be more helpful for best methods.
DukeOfNachos Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 My dye experience is from scruffy desert dwellers... but trashcan and some RIT worked great for those guys.
Chopper Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 Dying fabric can be complicated, depending on that material. Synthetics will require a different type of dye from natural materials, like cotton. Additionally, those breeches are already a fairly dark color. You can generally go darker with dyes, but altering the shade entirely may not work so well. Your mileage may vary with that particular set and it might be difficult to tell until you see better photos in hand.
