Hi everyone! I started doing the costume, and decided to print armor (I have files from Lancer). Up to this moment, I have made Cummerbund, Codpiece and Pouches, Boots without holster, the belt (just sanded and ready to paint) without hip boxes, and tote bag. I want to be sure that I'm doing everything right, so any constructive criticism and advices are appreciated.

The Boots: (I had time to change velcro from black to white)

Cummerbund: (As it says in level 2 of certification, I made pouches measured 6x5x2 inches, and cummerbund ribs are 1 inch apart)

I know, I must add an extra stitch running down the middle of the outside velcro cummerbund fastener, and remade pouches from heavier material.
I'm waiting with weathering till I have all the parts.

Okay a few things stand out to me.

1.  The boots look short.  I would need to see you wearing them, but they don't look like they would come up high enough on your leg.  These look jackboot height

2.  The boot vinyl seems heavily textured.  More than what was used on the show.

3.  The cummerbund is too tall -- it goes several inches under the pouches.  Here is the CRL bund:

Mando_scout_cummerbund.png

@StephTrooper made the garments for the TV show and she kept the bunds between 8-9 inches in height.

4.  Your codpiece has stitching around it.  The ones from the TV show did not.  The line you see there on the left side is the fold in the fabric.

5.  Your cummerbund appears to be inside out?  The ribs show the stitches on the outside of the garment.  They should be on the inside.

6.  The pouches look good!  So well done there.

Hope this helps.

Yes, that's very helpful. I'm going to add fill, when I will decrease the height of the Cummerbund - with this infill, ribs should look better. I'll take a picture in my boots and add it here later. I'm afraid they may actually be little too short, because I suggested that knee armor is upside-down 😕

Okey, I'm looked at scouts from tv show, and I decided to change lenght of the boots. The boots only looks like they were made from havily textured vinyl due to bright light, and it will look good in summary.

I fixed cummerbund:

Quick question about indent on the left side of the circle on the top of the tank. There is indent, or should I fill it in? And I can't find on the forum answer how to attach tank to the back plate. I only find how to attache it on the ROTJ biker scout with the velcro - is it the same method in the mando scout? (this part is pre-printed. the black color will be better)

best shot we have of the tank topper is here:

So that indent next to the dial should be filled in.  Also you are missing the round greeblie that goes inside that large hole on the left.   It's the same round greeblie that's found on the TD.  You can see it on the ROTJ Scout here:

The ROTJ tanks were affixed to the back with an elastic strap for the film.   This was not done for "The Mandalorian".  They appeared to be glued together or at least, permanently connected in some manner.  You may be able to rivet it all together using the rivet that goes through the tank topper.  Just depends on your kit.

E6000 always works!

I just attached my tank recently using a bracket. That method was recommended to me and it worked well. I left the indent on that circle. Can't tell one way or another from the screenshots is it is there or not. Look at my build photos.

I also painted it white like the ROTJ, perhaps the idea is the color wore off over time on these remnant guys. Figure I can remove the white if it becomes a problem for approval.

It's a WTF kit and those kits don't have them.  But the screen shot I posted above also shows no indent.

I'm done helmet, and the other parts of armor are waiting for painting, and weathering.

Also I attached a magnet clip to the mask closure, and I add microphone for voice amplifier - cable will go under the neckseal, and the speaker will be attached under the chest armor.

Hi Fibo! The weathering on the helmet looks great the only problem I'm seeing with it is that the details above the snout and forehead are indented into the helmet. We've seen these before on 3-D printed helmets and problem is that they need to be decals and not printed into the faceplate. For the helmet the CRL states that "Decals are screen accurate." Those areas will need to be filled in and decals applied in order for your helmet to be approvable. It's an easy fix to make and you can find decals from the vendor list here:

You've done a fantastic job on this armor and you should be proud. This is a minor fix and you shouldn't have any issues taking care of it.

@Retrofire pulled the trigger on the reply before me. I’m always a step behind these pros. See the CRL reference photo below.

I can’t tell from the angle, but are the black lines in the gray trapezoids on the back of the helmet indented too? If so they’ll need to be filled in as well.

Okay, Thank you @Retrofire@,  @Aradun, for saying this.  Trapezoids on the back are the real vents. I'm printed all the armor. So I will do what must be done.

Good to know that weathering is good and you like it

I'm still waiting for my flightsuit, but I weathered remaining armor parts. I hope to finish the outfit and register it before Star Wars Celebration.

I'm also mounted all the elastics, velcros, and  webbing, and every part fits me well. I couldn't wait for the suit, so I tried on the armor without it.

Just ahead of me is the finishing of the shoes

Nothing wrong with that. Once you get the flightsuit in then you can start to work on the fitment a bit more. Looking good so far. Keep up the great work!

Ok, my flightsuit arrived. Everything is comfortable. My shoes already have stitched details, so tomorrow I will start weathering, aaand at last I will send photos to my local garrison

Looks great. You were wondering who I was from the Scout files on Thingiverse. It's me. Glad to have you as a fellow Pathfinder.
