Broken Armor

Recommended Posts

So I had a bit of an issue today while making some improvements, I cracked a small piece on the back of one leg. What does everyone suggest to fix it? I tried posting pics but it keeps saying they are to big.

What material is the armor made from? Fiberglass? 3D print? ABS?

We have limited resources so everyone only gets a tiny allotment for images.  For this one, all you need to do is right click on the image, select "Copy Image Address" and the paste into the post.  I have done this for you.

It's a fiberglass.

I would just use good ol' Bondo for that.  Don't get too carried away with the repair though.  Remember the Shoretrooper should look pretty weathered.

Yea I was thinking that as well. This doesn't seem to be in a location that would hurt anything either.

Thanks!

Since it already cracked, it might be a high stress point. I'd glue some nylon webbing on the backside to strengthen that area and stop the crack from expanding. Might want to do it with the other leg armor too. Keep the crack showing. It'll add to the weathering and prevent more work trying to blend in bondo/weathering with the rest of the armor.

Good ideas! It will add to it for sure I just want to make sure it doesn't grow
