Hey Jordan, what you have for the return edge looks good to me.

For screen references, you can get a sense of the return edges on the chest and back armor from the photos below:

Hey Jordan!

Glad to see you made a WIP.  We'll be happy to see you through your build.

If you are looking for ROTJ production references, look no further than the Scoutopedia:

The forums unfortunately don't have unlimited storage space for attaching photos. We have to use an outside photo hosting services and then link the photos.

See this post from the DL about ways to do this: http://forum.501stpathfinders.com/index.php?/topic/22990-sharing-photos-with-dropbox/#comment-215704

started work on the biceps, knees and forearms as well today , everything still has its protective layer so if the edges look rough , its only because of the plastic film not the actual armour itself.

Does the return edge look okay on the top  ? so does it need more trimming ?

Return edge looks great.  Many of the Scout armor pieces had return edges in the film.  You can see the return edge on the forearm here

You might want to check with Chef on this part -- it looks like you have a defect in the pull on the side of the dropbox?

quick question , what size rivets do i need for the armour ?  is it 3ml ?

You're basically looking for these aluminum rivets: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ISPINNER-100pcs-Aluminum-Blind-Rivets/dp/B07R6GRXK9/ref=sr_1_3?crid=GS3F5XIMRIFF&keywords=1%2F8"+x+3%2F8"+aluminum+rivets&qid=1657119228&s=diy&sprefix=1%2F8+x+3%2F8+aluminum+rivet%2Cdiy%2C137&sr=1-3

If there's a hardware store near you, they might have packs in smaller quantities, since you don't need a ton of them.

1/8" (diameter) x 3/8" (there's no requirement on the pull length, but 3/8" tends to be a good size for the armor.)

You'll also want to get some 1/8" aluminum washers, so the rivets don't break the plastic: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Arrow-Fastener-Aluminum-Washers-8-Inch/dp/B08P5WNZQQ/ref=sr_1_2?crid=171Q2T89VBEH5&keywords=1%2F8"+aluminum+washers&qid=1657119408&s=diy&sprefix=1%2F8+aluminum+washers%2Cdiy%2C142&sr=1-2

Again, you might be able to find them at a hardware store near you.

You'll want to use 3mm (or 1/8) small head rivets.   Similar to these:

You can see them in action here:

MOTM_5985.jpg

There is one instance where the rivet washer was put on the outside of the costume, which I think led to a lot of folks buying large head rivets and using them all over the costume, which would be incorrect:

But as you can see here -- small head rivets were used throughout

Worked on a few more bits today as well .. pretty much ready to add the strapping on the armour and put it all together

waiting for my rivet gun to arrive so i can attach the tank to the back, with Chefs tank detail it comes with a cast rivet .. i sanded mine down and tomorrow will drill a proper one with a washer and attach it all together.

Painted the chest with Humbrol Gloss 5 and added the red stripe and white circle.

Glued the top on and used magnets to hold it together while it cured.

Hi Jordan, looks like you're making good progress. Just one thing I saw - and maybe it's because of the angle - but the right ear opening looks slightly smaller than the left one.
