Scarif20J Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 Hey everyone, I’m nearing the end of my Scout helmet build. How did YOU attach the lens? I’d love to see more photos of the inside of helmets. Don’t be shy. I’m not here to judge! Looking for creative methods. Thanks!
Chopper Posted June 30, 2022 Posted June 30, 2022 The most common method is to use hot glue along the sides of the lenses on the inside. It keeps the lenses secure, but you can also replace them relatively easily if need be. 4 1
Harbinger Posted July 1, 2022 Posted July 1, 2022 That method is nice as it leaves (usually!) a gap between the lens and the helmet, which cuts down on any fogging or condensation. 5
troygordon2 Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 I make and sell a lot of different helmets, and my go to is a simple hot glue gun. DON'T use "All temp" glue though. You want the HOT stuff. Don't we all... Make sure it's hot or high temp glue though as the alltemp stuff does a poor job of holding on to plastics. 4
Harbinger Posted July 5, 2022 Posted July 5, 2022 I've heard of people having the high-temp stuff warp ABS pulls before though. I'd be cautious if you went that route.
