UK materials

Recommended Posts

Ok, on the hunt for the right materials to use. Must be UK links for: Bund, vest and pouches.

Think I have a handle on the flightsuit and suede so no worries yet. Also, heavyweight vinyl for boots. Recommend away....thanks

In the UK?  Your best bets are @Chef or @RS Prop Masters.  Of those two, @Chef actually makes his own soft parts.  RS contracts out to Imperial Boots.

PS. I bumped you up to 501st Legion status.  Welcome, Trooper!

Yep aware of both, have Chefs kit for me but trying to help out a seamstress who wants to give it a go for my partners biker. If no luck I will be going to Chef anyway

Well hopefully a builder in the UK will chime in with specific materials for you to use!

  • 3 weeks later...

Managed to get hold of some mercerised cotton, which just looks like normal cotton to my untrained eye. Certainly not the same as my bund which was supplied by Chef which appears to be a nylon type of material and slightly waterproof almost. If we are going by the CRL, I'm guessing I can safely change my bund and cod to the new material. Several trips to fabric suppliers have drawn a blank on the flak vest material too so not having much luck. What can we safely use? Black twill, heavy cotton or should it have some flex/stretch to it? We aren't averse to buying ready made but trying to help a friend financially and mentally by giving her something to focus on. Any guidance appreciated
